Sorry, wareagle, I gotta disagree with your take that Old Style is the worst beer out there. I don't drink much domestic beer, but if I can find Old Style when I'm out and about, I'll drink that. I started drinking Old Style in college in the early 80s because you could buy a 6 pack of Tall Boys for 99 cents-- a case of tall boys was 4 bucks!! Back then we were obviously drinking for the buzz, and if we could find something that was half as cheap as the Bud that we had been drinking, we were all for it.
Thing is, since Pabst bought Old Style its no longer brewed in La Crosse (hey, djv!) I swear the taste is different than it used to be-- and the price went up 20%, too....
Its the beer of Chicago and its still a huge sponsor of the Chicago Cubs on the radio and at Wrigley Field-- but instead of it being sold in the stands like when Harry was still alive, you have to go down to the concession stands to get it.
I think the worst beer I've ever drank is Rhinelander-- that chit is nasty....
Red, White and Welfare, er.. Red, White and Blue is quite nasty as well....Schlitz, Pabst and Stroh's ain't nothing to write home about, either.......

First of all, I love Mr. Pibb....recently, they started selling it as "Pibb Xtra" Have no idea why. They don't sell Pibb in Wichita....almost have to go to Oklahoma to get it. RC was my favorite too, they changed the formula in the mid 80's....don't like it now.

My folks owned a restaurant in the 60's-70's. Our fountain had Teem (sprite knockoff) and Dr. Wells (Pepper knockoff) Both weren't quite as good as the real thing.

I really liked New Coke. I must have bought some of the last bottles available. Tried Vanilla Coke today........not as good as a vanilla coke from Sonic or Dairy Queen when they get it right.

My favorite cheap beer was Weideman's.....but it had to be extremely cold. Only sold it in short, pudgy brown bottles. Worst cheap beer was Shaeffer's........you couldn't get that crap cold enough.

as for cheap wine......it's gotta be boone's farm.

Well being 60 Im much older then most here. Here's a real old beauty. Bull Frog Bear, came from the Copone Brewery Chicago.
This was real junk bear at it's best, 20 cents a guart back in the late 50'sand early 60's. Disappered mid to late 60's. Hey it's all we could afford.
Redsfan Old Style now out of Milwaukee. Not made with the pure water it used to be. And not aged like it was. You want a new great bear. If you can get it. La Crosse City Light or La Crosse Lager. Good Stuff. ;)

I went to the Vanilla Coke release party for Coca-Cola employees on Tuesday and Wednesday. I really liked the Vanilla Coke. I don't know if it is something that I would buy very often, but I can see it gaining a small niche market.

It's not AS good as getting a coke with vanilla syrup in it, but who would expect it to be?

Cherry Coke is not as good as the real thing, either, but it is very good.
