Are you coming up for it?

Im not sure.... i'm definitely looking forward to seeing who is added to the card.

I've got to watch my spending right now, but Fight Night cards are a lot more affordable than the PPV events, so it's possible... Also, Fight Night shows are done in smaller arenas so getting decent seats wouldnt be an issue (I waited until the last minute to get tickets to UFC 88 in Atlanta, and it was several hundred dollars to get lower level seats).

Condit/Kampmann should be great and i'm a fan of Carlos Condit.. I lived in his hometown of Albuquerque throughout high school and we're about the same age. He is gonna take Kampmann's arm home with him. :SIB

For you guys that are nearby, look into joining UFC Fight Club. It is not expensive and you get first access to pre-sale tickets. Even if you only use it once it could pay off. :)

UFC may be headed to New Orleans this year, too... good to see some events being held in the South.

UFC Fight Night 17 will be held at the Sommet Center which is where the NHL team, Predators play. It seats approximately 18,000. Luckily, I have a friend with a box, so when it moved to the Sommet (from the Fairgrounds), I just saved $100!!

Wow.. 18,000, eh?! Seems like the last location was half that size (Sun Dome?)

The UFC better get to work on this card! UFC.com is slow to post, so there may be more fights confirmed by now.. they just arent posted yet.

Hell, UFC.com didnt have the Condit/Kampmann "banner" up until a couple days ago.

Karo Parisyan tests positive for several painkillers

This guy has some serious shit going on in his head... He hasnt been himself lately at all.

In the news.....

- Rich Clementi and Luigi Fioravanti have been released from the UFC

I knew this was coming for Luigi... I thought he'd feel some pressure to perform against Johnson, but he quit. :sadwave:

- Gilbert Melendez AND Nick Diaz will be on the Strikeforce card scheduled for April 11

Opponents will be named within the next two weeks.

My guess is that the place will be packed. This area of the country doesn't get a lot of top-level MMA events. There is a ton of buzz around town about this one.

This goes to show how tough Diaz is...... this is a pretty big matchup from my point of view.

If this fight can happen, it makes EliteXC look even worse for never putting together a Diaz vs. Lawler rematch.

My first thought is Shamrock will win, but it's hard to count out Diaz..... and hard to count ON Shamrock. This fight reminds me of Shamrock's fight with Renzo Gracie, where Frank was getting dominated before he freaked out and started throwing illegal knees at Gracie's head.

 that could be my favorite video......i meant to put it in my favorites the last time it was posted, but i got sidetracked...

"el guapo"....:mj07: ..i just love the guy...great sense of humor...and don`t forget,he was an elite fighter in his day...

he reminds me of james arness in the original movie "the thing from another world"...with that bald head and huge hands...

i think diaz's chin is starting to go as evidenced by his getting knocked down a number of times lately. that with his poor punching defense will get him koed against frank.

Frank isn't a world beater on his feet. I actually think this matchup is very, hmm, not "favorable," but I don't know what the word would be. I guess what I'm trying to say is the matchup is alot more even.

if frank can`t cut diaz up standing(i think diaz has a significant edge standing)and frank can`t sub him(diaz has never been subbed),he will probably have to go the distance and g&p diaz using his natural weight advantage...

one thing we know is even if his arm is hanging off by a tendon, diaz won`t quit...like shamrock did vs cung le....the guy is 37...and the last few years have been fraught with inactivity...

if the odds are ridiculous,i`ll take a hard look at diaz.. he has a real shot in a battle of attrition...

This match is already getting a lot of hype since Frank knocked out Nick's instructor (Cesar Gracie) a while back. Nick has been calling Shamrock out ever since.......

?In my opinion, these are the two best guys fighting right now, me and Maia. I think whoever wins this fight is the best middleweight in the UFC. I think I?m better than Anderson and I think Demian?s better than Anderson; I think we would both beat him. For my money, this is the fight to figure out who?s the best. But who?s the best and who?s the champion are two different deals.?

? Chael Sonnen tells USA Today that he believes his opponent at UFC 95: ?Sanchez vs. Stevenson,? Demian Maia, as well as himself, are the two top middleweights in the organization. It?s a rather bold statement, considering the world beater who currently reigns atop the division, Anderson Silva. Sonnen has won seven of his last eight matches since 2006. And he avenged that loss (Paulo Filho) in his most recent performance. Maia has never lost a fight in professional mixed martial arts competition. Meanwhile, Silva?s dominance kind of speaks for itself. He will defend his 185-pound title against Thales Leites at UFC 97 in April. After that, if Silva wins, we may find out if Sonnen?s assessment is accurate.

This doesnt make sense

- All of Griffin's fights are exciting and he is an actual contender at 155 right now. I hate how the UFC cradles all of their reality show winners.
