Notre Dame(-6') over Louisville (1*)

Iowa(-2') over Purdue (1*)
- - Not for one moment this week have I thought the linemaker was on to something with a number suggesting that Deacon Hill starting at QB is part of storyline in which Purdue is rounding into midseason form as a better team than Iowa, or catching Iowa at just the right time.

Colorado(-3)(-130) over Arizona State (1*)
- - After whiffing on my guess about both Colorado and TCU in the opener, I have been on a 4-0 roll with my Colorado wagers in the four weeks since then. I like em to win, and cover.

North Carolina(-9') over Syracuse (1*)
- -

Rutgers(+12') over Wisconsin (1*)
- - This IS the game in which what I think I have been seeing out of Rutgers shows up. Or not.

Texas(-4) over Oklahoma (1*)
- - I’m hoping Texas is good enough because they will be challenged.

LSU(-5') over Missouri (1*)
- - The wagering success of some weeks is greatly dependent on a game or two in which you flip your play from the way you were initially inclined. This one is a flip for me.

Washington State(+3) over UCLA (1*)
- - And this is a game in which a flip was thoroughly considered but I’m not going there.

Maryland(+17) over Ohio State (1*)
- -

Every season requires suffering through moments of idiocy, but I might have just witnessed the stupidest play I have ever seen to end a first half in the Maryland vs. Ohio State game. Maryland has been dominant the entire game and now they deserve to be smoked.

I should have hedged the Maryland play, but I really was so shocked and upset by the finish of the half that it did not even enter my mind. Makes me an idiot on a scale of 1/100th of Tagovailoa.

UCLA(-1')(-120)(2h) over Washington State (1*)
- - Blindly making this wager, I have only seen the team stats and one crazy play to end the half.

Nebraska(-10') over Northwestern (1*)
- - Been watching both teams closely, and I see Nebraska taking strides through adversity to emerge as a pretty decent team, while Northwestern has so far done a really good job of achieving with less. This one screams to me as Nebraska all day in front of the faithful.

West Virginia(-3) over Oklahoma State (1*)
- -

Wisconsin(-3) over Illinois (1*)
- - Illinois gave a top shelf effort in upsetting Maryland as a double digit dog, and Wisconsin loses their 95th rated QB to injury. What I’m seeing here is a sizeable overreaction to the fight for relevance in the Big Ten West race.

Iowa(-3)(-130) over Minnesota (1*)
- - Minnesota has suffered through a decade of complete futility and a quarter century of empty trips to Iowa City in the nation’s premier Trophy game, and wants this scalp badly, and of course I’m just a little worried that it could happen. But simply put, Iowa has shown how much this Trophy means to them, and Phil Fleck’s 2023 Gophers have flashed nothing that offers value at this insulting number.

USC(-7)(-105) over Utah (1*)

- - Guess I’m willing to eat a lot of chalk in this one.

Duke(+14) over Florida State (1*)
- -

Alabama(-9) over Tennessee (1*)
- -

Indiana(+6) over Rutgers (1*)
- - My thoughts last week were, “Rutgers wins but not by much.” My thoughts this week are if Rutgers wins, it will be close.

Miami(+3) over Clemson (1*)
- - I was dead on last week when I thought Miami would play hard and look like a Top 25 team, but North Carolina would be the right side. Now Miami returns to the scene of the crime, and I expect as good or better effort will be the right side.

Penn State(+4) over Ohio State (1*)
- - I have been tracking Penn State toward this spot since about the last time they played, and they have given me no reason not to carry my cash come game day, even if several bandwagons are needed for the masses driving the spread below the generous +6 I was more or less expecting.

Miami (Ohio)(+2) over Toledo (1*)
- -

Missouri(-7')(-105) over South Carolina (1*)
- -

Kansas State(-6') over TCU (1*)
- - Swapping in this play instead of a play on Oklahoma(-17') over UCF. That was a bad move for me last week, when I switched from Iowa State(+5) over Cincinnati to Cincinnati over Iowa State.
