I see no reason not to wear a mask as mentioned above. If you feel sick, if you?re exposed, or heaven forbid if you?re around a chronically ill person you don?t want to spread anything to. Speaking of kids, even the kindergartners wore masks this year. My 5 year old wears his like a champ. It?s not hard, it?s not taking any rights away, and imho it is selfish to think otherwise.

Fully vaccinated Americans can gather with other vaccinated people indoors without wearing a mask or social distancing, according to long-awaited guidance from federal health officials.

The recommendations also say that vaccinated people can come together in the same way with people considered at low-risk for severe disease, such as in the case of vaccinated grandparents visiting healthy children and grandchildren.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the guidance Monday.

In the future during flu season it would be nice if those who feel ill or were near someone who did have it started wearing a mask for a moderate period of time. It's called common courtesy for the assholes on this thread.

So people that wear a mask can't be infected or infect?

I'm confused, is Tony still in charge there, he has many positions on the masks.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Masks alone will have a small effect on flu transmission....physical distancing and other such behaviors must be added to make much of a difference. I can see compliant and community worshipping Confucian Asian countries trying that in a bad flu year, but not yahoo distrustful independent minded Americans...

clearly those who knowingly have the flu should make some attempt not to spread it, especially to the chronically ill (though i?m not sure how often that situation comes into play for most) - i would say that falls under the umbrella of using common sense

to me this conversation was heading somewhere else entirely, with the exuberance of declarations that ?we now know how to beat the flu!!? - and my point was that if it took widespread mask usage on a regular basis to beat the flu, then i would personally just take my chances

we?re all gonna die somehow, and if a virus jumps up and grabs me them my feeling is so be it - i have had chronic asthma since age 11 (use my spray 4-5 times daily), but i would never ask someone to wear a mask to protect me - if i was that worried about it i would take the necessary precautions to not be exposed

different strokes for different folks - and i guess we?ll see what happens from here, but my prediction is that 99.9% of the public will lock away their masks and throw away the key once ?allowed? to do so

I don?t think Anyone is calling for a permanent mask mandate, it?s just the way to beat the cold and flu. It would be nice for those who are feeling ill to wear it, for example up north during a normal fall through spring well up here let?s just call that entire stretch winter you see people hacking, coughing, sneezing all about with no masks, no hand washing or sanitizing but maybe NOW that we have gone through this people will be more apt to say, ?I should wear a mask? we would have a much better cold and flu season going forward.

That's the problem. We "clearly" can't trust people to do the right thing. I was in a hospital in Georgia this December and people weren't wearing masks. People don't have common sense. I watched a guy arguing with a worker at the grocery store today about wearing a mask. He told her "it's all a hoax".

There are reports out there that 1 in 4 Americans know someone that died of COVID. I get that we're all going to die from something, I just don't think we need to risk it. Wearing a mask is so easy and this is so temporary.

so temporary? we?re having a discussion about whether or not we should continue wearing masks once we?re past covid to stop ppl from getting other viruses

some people have no common sense, some people don?t display common courtesies - but this practice of lumping everybody into one group or the other is dumb - i wear a mask when i go into a business but once i?m allowed not to i will stop (yes even during flu season) - if it makes anyone feel better to think i am a terrible selfish asshole for that then it is what it is, sure that won?t be the only situation those people will be overly judgmental about anyway
