Seven-times grand slam champion John McEnroe is joining the coaching team of Canadian world number nine Milos Raonic, the American said on Friday.

McEnroe, 57, made the announcement while working for television channel Eurosport at the French Open.

"When it comes to Wimbledon I'll be taking on and I'm gonna help coach this guy named Milos," McEnroe said.

"He can win majors. He is one of five or six guys that can win Wimbledon. I'm excited to be part of his team."

Raonic, 25, is a former Wimbledon semi-finalist and world number four who also works with Spaniard Carlos Moya, a former French Open champion.

LOLOL

this should make kick thrilled. Not that he ever had a shot to win anything of substance before, but he certainly doesn't know. Not sure how John can help a guy with no ground game. Perhaps he can give him a personality. Would be a good start.

Great tournament for Milos....makes Round of 16's on his worst surface. Keeps his top ten ranking and now gets ready for real tennis that is played on a real surface.

Well done Milos:00hour

what do you make of ernie's chances tomorrow bdb?

Of the remaining players in the draw outside of Djokovic, Ernests has the most god given talent of all of them.

Of the remaining players no one is even close to a nutcase as Ernie is between the ears. You could tell me any conceivable scoreline for tomorrow and I'd believe it. Ernie winning 6-0, 6-0. 6-0. Sure. Ernie losing 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, sure I'd believe that too. Ernie walking off the court after losing a break and never hitting another tennis ball for the rest of his life......never can count that out either.

He's definitely more talented than Goffin, but Goffin has a better head on his shoulders and his bitch ball game will frustrate Ernests if he isn't blasting winners by him. Goffin has a joke of a serve. Embarrasing for a tour level player. Ernie will hit every 2nd serve as hard as he can and if they go in he'll win and if not, he won't.

+235 is definitely worth a shot, but I wouldn't put the house on it. Wait to bet him as a small dog, like +120 against Djokovic or something.

Moving Ernie from center court is going to be a decision the tournament will come to forget. It's embarrassing how poorly this tournament is run from year to year.

Ernie is focused. Not playing nice today. Goffin looks scared. Like really scared. During warm ups when it was Ernies turn to hit overhand smashes he didn't even want to pretend to rally. He was just blasting them right by Goffin and Goffin was like wtf?

Looking good so far. I have the over 37 myself, as I thought this would go 4-5 today. Not so sure now! :mj07:
