New Orleans
In December.... Anyone have any suggestions on restaurants, bars, lounges, nightlife ect... Thanks

Shame you arent coming next week. Fdc will be in town for Tool.

Restaurants

District Donuts My fav breakfast right now is a miso-praline bacon with fried egg biscuit sandwich washed down with a cortado.

Mopho. My fav lunch at the moment is a tom sam salad with 2 pints of local Canebreak ale. The tom sam ingredients change based on available produce, but these guys are magicians. Several great options in this farm to table spot.

Peche. For dinner, i offer you this Donald Link spot. I am all about the wood grilled whole redfish with lemon butter and salsa verde. Off the charts. Some quality small plates. Everything is line caught locally and the freshest available

Bon ton cafe is downtown. Old school cajun outfit with all the classics. Place has been there since the 30s. Etouffee def on the menu

Jacques-imos is uptown a few doors from the Maple Leaf. Some good creole options.

La Petite Grocery...one of the best spots in town. Modern local cuisine.

Chargrilled oysters at both acme and dragos are good. Dragos has a location at the Hilton riverside and a suburban location. Acme is in the french quarter and also has a metairie location.

If you decide to have a poboy, then surf and turf at parkway bakery ia strong. Large fried shrimp and tender roastmbeef with gravy on french bread. I cant get enough....

Many more options. Let me know if you need more.

On my list is Compere Lapin. Nina compton is the chef. Carribean-creole cuisine. This will be my next dinner stop. Been open about a year and a half, i think.

North of the french quarter is the fauburg marigny. This area, particularly Frenchman St, has several live music spots. I dont go out like i used to, but was at dba recently for a quality live act. The area was just like i left it, if not more happening. I will look at the music calendar highlight a couple of the better acts as it gets closer to your visit

Carousel bar in the French quarter is a fun place to grab a drink. It can get crowded, however.

Also, thanks for the suggestions in here, Cie. I've written them down for my next trip to NOLA. One of my favorite cities.
