Default More lies from FOX NEWS on Obama being "most Liberal"
Anatomy of a Right Wing Smear IV: Steve Doocy: Obama could be the most liberal Senator

I?ve been doing a series for C&L about the myth that will overtake FOX news and other right wing outlets which will try to scare people into keeping both hands on their wallet.. Howie wrote a post called: Anatomy of a Right Wing Myth: Obama is the most liberal Democratic Senator.

Doocy: And in fact there?s going to be a real choice because we?ve looked at the studies which suggest that Barack Obama could be the most liberal Senator, in the US Senate, and meanwhile while John McCain?more in the middle. Would you have a guy to the right or more in the middle?

Doocey screws up his question, but that?s OK. You?ll see phrases like ?could be? and ?it?s quite possible? and ?suggest that? he?s the most liberal Senator in Congress. The only study I?ve seen is the very flawed National Journal one so I wonder Steve will reveal what other studies he has. Is it so hard for the media to tell the simple truth about his voting record. Here?s Howie..

If only! Actually there are 39 Democrats with more liberal voting records, although Obama does at least beat perennial Bush rubber stamps Holy Joe Lieberman (CT), Ben Nelson (NE) and Mary Landrieu (LA). His voting record? however you slice it, however you dice it? points to a solidly mainstream centrist? and, to be honest, considerably less liberal than? sssshhhhhhh? Hillary.

So how do CNN, CBS, ABC and NBC all allow the paid GOP shills to get away with their Big Lie? Good question. There?s one cooked up National Journal ?study? that these clowns keep referring to? yes the same cloddish National Journal that criticized its own ranking of John Kerry as ?the most liberal senator? in 2004...read on

Lately John and I have been gnashing our collective teeth every time we see one of the Republican shills on TV repeating, mantra-like, the #1 GOP Big Lie of the campaign: ?Barack Obama is the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate.?

This year, their utterly meaningless ranking system, ready-made for Republican smear attacks, defined ?liberal? as members who voted, on January 18, to establish a Senate Office of Public Integrity to handle ethics complaints against senators. Given the Republican Culture of Corruption that still rules the Beltway, that may be anti-Republican, but what makes it ?liberal?? Similarly anyone who agreed in mid-March to the final passage of a bill implementing the 9/11 Commission?s Homeland Security recommendations, is suddenly ?liberal?? And on May 9, Obama joined many other senators in voting to block individuals from serving on Food and Drug Administration drug advisory panels if they have conflicts of interest.

Let?s hope more Americans start defining liberal this way. Because to me this all sounds very mainstream, even if John ?W? McCain was on the wrong side of each vote.

The ever so corrupt Daley now saying taxes will have to be raised if the gun ban gets over turned. As if ANYTHING was going to stop him from raising taxes/fees/fines/charges. Right now he's trying to have a kids museum built in Grant Park. Against what the locals and the area alderman wants. Against what has been historically been seen as sacred ground. But the PRITZKERS want it. BFD! So the Mayor is steamrolling it through. He can't do any steamrolling this time LOL

Yes I do hate this fuking puke.

Same guy was fighting police/fire contact raises during 9/11.

I'll be glad when I live outside of this city.

The good Rev Fat Boy has come out and said he would march against any gun shops located near schools or playgrounds. Bet you donations have been low of late.

Apparently gun ownership isn't prob--wonder if they could find actual common denominator?

Not sure anybody was disputing that 'homicides' are committed at a greater rate by blacks, than whites.

That's obvious.

There's a lot more to the social process and dynamics than that, though.

Heck, you defend New Orleans quite a bit. Just Sayin.' I'm on your side there, for sure. Kind of strange how you really never got after the actual people that said that NO should be finished. Done. ( no offense to Wayne personally)

If you're inclined to respond to the last topic I mentioned, address it to Wayne, not me.

I don't recall DTB's comments on shutting down New Orleans. Of course, that's not to say I won't run a search momentarily. Regardless, I'm just glad that the vicitims of the massive flooding in the midwest don't have to hear that kind of bullshit.

Well, Wayne never meant ALL of N'awlins. Just the darkest parts. You're OK I'm sure.;)

Had that link already in statistical favs Cie. Key stat is data showing 12% of population commits over 50% of homicides--
Guns don't kill people--people kill people.
What irks me is the PC police try to incorporate every non relevent stat to try and prove their point when obvious is staring them in the face.

On N.O. Been there 3times once when young and twice later.
N.O. business district has culture all it's own and should be preserved at any cost IMO-but my most memorable visit was in my youth when I went to visit my uncle in airforce. He had friend that was 100% cajun and we went out in bayou "cajun country" for crawfish feast. They boiled them in burlap sack and poured them on table covered with newspaper and everyone chowed down. These people were quite intriging to me and gave me distinct impression of very tight community (if one had prob they all join in to help). Would be curious if Cie is familiar with these people and if I was correct on assmption during Katrina.
--also was facinated by their dialect--and some knock out gorgeous women.
