Nick, thanks for the post. I agree with you about the types of trends that Hank G uses not being worth much. I think some of the players here would do well to consider the merits of what you are saying but as the saying goes: "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink".

Nolan puts a lot of time into his write-ups. I find his info and takes to be useful.

I don't understand why someone wants to bash either of these gentlemen over their posts here.

Good day all.

Ok, I have been a "lurker" at MadJacks since around September 2000. Hardly a day goes by where I do not check the posts, picks, and grumblings from you guys. I have always respected opinions, and enjoyed the wide variety of rants and raves from well travelled veterans of the gambling world.

After reading this thread I feel the need to reply. I am completely disgusted with the immature behaviour of a select few on this forum.

In particular, I am puzzled as to why some of you continue to flame Nolan Dalla? Now, I have never met Nolan in person but have enjoyed (and profited) from his insights on this forum as well as PokerPages. It seems some of you may forget the 2000/01 NFL season. Nolan was on FIRE. I made a pretty penny piggybacking his picks that year, and I'm certain that many of you did as well. In fact, Nolan received praise and god like status that year on this very message board. Oh, how we soon forget.

I may be mistaken, but I think that this forum was created in order to share ideas and insights? Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to piggyback a pick. If you do not agree with someones insights, do you your own handicapping and lay off those who take the time to share their opinions and wisdom.

Gambling on sports is difficult and very few succeed. I just ask that you refrain from throwing insults at those who have been and will hopefully continue to be valuable members here at Madjacks.

Just my two cents. Peace out.

Couple quick questions for BobbieBlueChip, whom I never realized until his last post in this thread just how obsessed this dork is with me. His personal investigation into how I whooped his ass in last years NCAA contest might only be rivaled by Taoist's recent expose on the Worm.

1. Bobbie- Did you finish in the money in last year's NCAA contest?
2. Bobbie- Is you record so far in this year's contest 15-28-2?

I don't make it easy on my bitches, Bobbie, so it's nice to see you'll be able to put the effort in to get the job done.

I just like for people to get paid when they win.

Right Kosar

No doubt, Wilson. That should be all that any of us expect. Some people don't adhere to that concept. Oh well, such is life in a world full of Nolans and Jsmooths.

Good luck tomorrow. This one is gonna get crazy, I think. Even worse than 2000, if that's possible.

Ditto Big Dirt,

I have always liked Nolan Dalla writings and I miss his page. I'm not sure if some people understand the hours he has put into studying angles and handicapping.

But it is appreciated by me and i am sure others.

Keep up the good work Nolan.....

This is my first time checking back on this thread, and man did it get out of control. I was asked a direct question by AngryBlackMan and I'll answer it directly. Yes, RAYMOND is a square. Personally, I have always been fond of the guy, but when it comes to his gambling, he's a square in part because he follows similar handicapping techniques to Hank Goldberg.

I also want to respond to one other point made in this thread. Somone posted that it is possible that Goldberg uses good handicapping techniques, but only has time to talk about the square parameters on the air. I don't buy that for one second. Speaking as someone who takes the craft of handicapping seriously, I would never go on the air touting handicapping parameters that I know are both meaningless and deceiving to the novice gambler. A good handicapper normally uses a number of parameters to select a play, so he should have plenty of more insightful things to say if that postulation was correct.

I almost forgot that Saint posted about my condescending style of posting. I'm sure that I come off as aloof in a lot of what I write. When you believe in something and dedicate yourself to understanding a craft, often times that happens when you encounter folks who treat your craft flippantly. (There I go again.)

That said, humility is a virtue and I should try to be more engaging.
