Please I don't want to cause a pissing match. But I would like to ask a couple questions. And I,m hoping no one screws it up so this has to get moved.
Do you have insurance? Is it priced fair? Do you buy it on your own? Or from where you work?
If you have none can you really get care?
Please leave the poltics out of this. Im trying to win a bet for a whole 5 bucks.

Do you have insurance? Yes

Is it priced fair? Yes $36 a month with 10/25/$50 co-pays

Do you buy it on your own? Yes

Or from where you work? I have coverage thru Tobacco Settlement in Pennsylvania

If you have none can you really get care?
Never shopped for any. Iimagine if I had no coverage I'd have to get a 3rd job to pay for it

Yes we have it.

I have to pay for it myself, for me, my wife, and my 9 month old son.

My monthly premium is 1120$. We are all healthy. Is that price fair? I'd like to think not. But I feel fortunate we can afford it and wonder how most Americans can with premiums at that level.

Where it is real F ing COLD
I have insurance.. I pay $150/month but it is for emergent situations. I think my deductable is $5000 but I get free routine check ups.. I think it is a little high priced for what I get but I do have piece of mind though..
Can you get care without it? Lot of hearsay on this.. But I can tell you first hand.. Have worked in several different hospitals who never refused care for the uninsured.. Also as a triage nurse working in an ER we often had to give immediate care and worried about the paper work later. Some situations cause for not giving a fuck about that..

All you need to do is get 150-200+ pounds overweight, go to a lawyer, get your disability, and don't ever pay for insurance again. I see it all the time!

On wifes group coverage--pay bout $80 a month --very satisfied.

Before married -had $2,500 deductible plan for bout 15 years--was satisfied with that as well. However wouldhave been MUCH more satisfied if they had HSA plans back in those days--could have socked away bout $2,500 a year tax free--deducted it from my taxes and had it accumulate tax free.

On the course!
Being a government worker, insurance coverage is good. To the point that non-government workers "hate" us.

The issue I have with my own insurance is that we have no co-pay, and a family is the same price if you are two people or 12.

I know people who NEVER go to the doctor. I also know people who run there every single time they call in sick, so it doesn't count against their sick leave. Could be a sniffle, a sore throat......

Those are the people who cost everyone else tons of money. If we had a mild co-pay of even $35 per visit......a lot of this shit would stop.

Work for a municipality, 175.00 a month (family). No copay, after 200.00 scrips are free, eye care 1 free pair of glasses a yr. Dental is seperate, but like 19.00 a month. Happy with health ins, but cost is on a 3 yr increase to 200.00 a month.
YYZ, I agree with you to a certain degree. When I had my old insurance with my old job. With 4 younger kids, the copays would run me close to 100.00+ a month extra.(drained my drinking $$$, lol) I believe I used to pay 289.00 for family back then.

I'm single and work for the postal service and have the union health plan w/ no co-pay. It's only $7.77every 2 weeks for the consumer driven option, which works out great for me (health is great, knock on wood).

I have insurance through my job, I cover myself and my wife covers the kids through her work. I think we pay about 400 per month, not really sure exact amount. I would get on hers, but its POS instead of PPO, so I stay on mine for now. prescripts are 25 for brand/10 for generic. co-pays are 15 for me and 20 for kids and wife. I would like higher co-pays, say 50 bucks co-pay and less per month. something needs to be done about the skyrocketing costs

am I happy with my coverage, I guess, do I pay too much, no.

Do you have insurance? No
Is it priced fair? N/A
Do you buy it on your own? Apparently I am considered uninsurable because I had surgery on my neck in 2006 and used to take antidepressants. 3 companies have refused me individual/family coverage.
Or from where you work? If I were employed by a company that offered a group health plan, I couldn't be refused coverage and I would buy it.
If you have none can you really get care? I have been to GP and eye doctor since not having insurance. In fact, both were kind enough to discount their services for me. My husband just had a minor inpatient surgery (23 hours in hospital) and the bills are at $7100 and still coming in. The surgeon discounted his service by 40%. We're still waiting for the anesthesiologist and ER docs to bill so we can negotiate.

Yes, but not great care. They keep you breathing.

Actually they prefer people who pay money because they don't have to deal with the paperwork and people in order to get insurance reimbursement. That's why they give very large discounts to people who pay cash - like you do for every other good/service in life. Hopefully they stint on care for the illegal invaders they are required by law to treat, but I don't know about that. Certainly many hospitals have been driven out of business by illegals.

Wife has insurance as state employee and pays $462 a month. Went up from $360 last year.

Plus, last year no deductible and 100%.

This year $2000 deductible and 80/20 WTF?!

Includes dental that amounts to a max of $1000 per person per year on things they cover.

And, glasses :142smilie

If you take what they pay for, this is what you get. They will buy one box of contacts too
