..................................................................

yeh I just threw the 600 billion out there

so the PO only lost 3.8 billion ? wow . How do they stay in business ?

The internet paying bills and emails have hurt the PO. But their ungodly waste is what has them down and kicking. Everytime I go into a PO there are two people out front and a line of 20 people waiting for service. Bring some of them people out back with their thumb up their asses and teach them how to sell stamps. Is that so fawking hard ?

PO too used to gravy train too many years. Dont know how to run a company without losing gabillions.

the PO is a customer service nightmare.

I talked to a guy that worked for the PO one time and he said he could do his entire route in half a day. I asked him then what do you do ? He said I go home and sleep until its time to get off. :SIB

Listen I am from Vermont originally , so I know you are a fawking hillbilly

Not sure that came out right

And I'm from Atlanta originally so it looks like we switched places. Looks like Vermont got the better of that trade by far. :thefinger

Ok, my uneducated friend ... the real reasons the post office is showing a loss is:

1) http://www.hillbillyreport.org/diary/562/republican-incompetence-crashed-the-post-office-too

and

2) http://www.apwu.org/news/burrus/2010/update03-2010-100120.htm

And now you know.

I will acknowledge that some offices operate the way you claim which tends to turn public perception against us (Funny pic, btw). :mj07:

But not my office. We've been basically on a skeleton crew for the past couple of years. Trust me, I earn every penny of my pay and benefits, as do the majority of my co-workers.

To me, having more cows than people is a good thing  . I love my peace and quiet.

57 degrees today. People are already walking around wearing shorts. :00hour

Chittenden? LOL - not much going on there at all. I'm in Rutland, which is a little better but not much.

Yeah, I am in the union ... but mainly because it allows me to get the great deal on insurance. If it wasn't for that, I'm not sure I'd stay in. Unfortunately, all the union seems to do is protect the worthless employees at the expense of the good ones.

the hillbilly report?...a postal worker`s union newsletter?....you`re not serious...are you?...

the republicans didn`t do shit in 2006...that`s the year that the democrats took over control of congress...they were trying to figure out a way to asuage the u.sps.` mounting debt issue....unfunded retirement and healtha benefits..

the post office is failing just like every other governmental buraucracy...the key word is "bureaucracy"....bloated benefits, pensions, pay and "buroeaucracy"....it`s the common theme in bureaucracies...they spend more than they take in...period..unsustainable,...dwindling mail volume..rising costs(i.e. bloated wages, benefits and pensions)....

that`s it in a nutshell...

cut out waste, fraud , and doctor crooks in the system. Search them out and put them in jail.

it seems so simple

I know its a difficult concept for you black gumby

I see --so if we don't pass his bill and add millions to the rolls (expansion)--he'll just let the waste-fraud-crooks (reform) continue -- DUH

As Forrest said " Simple is as simple does" :)

Wrong, but thanks for playing. Dems took over January 2007, after the November election of 2006.

Spot on about the didn't do shit part though. :toast:

As a few of you said the chit had to start. But before Jack has to shut it down we at least had a good gatheringof info. And I believe we see how tough a subject it is. One thing that works for most that get there insurance thru there work. The price is not to bad. .
However remember when it goes up you share by getting smaller raise in pay. And big trouble starts when let go. So hang on to those jobs as best you can.

Enjoyed reading thiese comments. I'm retired and have the advantage of only paying $50 a month for the same coverage as I did when I worked. I am very grateful for this and don't want an overhaul of the Healthcare system to jeopordize my situation. Having said this I would like to make some observations and raise questions as to others' comments.

1. I hear a lot of talk about insurance companies crossing state lines to increase competition. WHAT IS THE ARGUMENT AGAINST THIS? AND WHO & WHY ARE THEY? I hear people say it but no blame or reason why it isn't done. does anyone on MJ know?

2. I get sick and tired of people bad mouthing unions and their leaders. Do they suck? Not always, but often enough. But their basic principal is simple : TO HELP MAKE THEIR MEMBERS' LIVES BETTER. Wouldn't it be great if our leaders of government thought the same way? Rathet then worry about lining their own pockets and getting reelected. Hey , on the other side of the coin, wouldn't our unions be better if our union leaders actually did that rather than look out for themselves, too? :nono:

3. Not sure how this whole health care thing will work out. Hopefully for the best, but we should be thankful the dems for getting the super majority that they finally got so the issue could be addressed. Those politicians have been sweeping it under the rug for a long time. Also, I can never figure out why politicians from both sides appear to make more sense when they are out of office. Could it be because they are no longer doing favors for special interest groups?

4. Finally, what about the Post Office taking the clocks out of the office so " the waits" don't seem as long. I don't know about you guys, but to me the opposite is more often true than not. 5 minute "waits" usually feel like 10-15. A clock would make you realize that maybe "the wait" wasn't that LONG.
