Actually, several here were correct. He told Lowes that it's a normal installation but he also told them that I didn't really need a WH, that I just need a new element, and I asked him to replace the element. The guy was totally honest all around. My bad. I'm just a skeptic especially when it comes to stuff like electric and plumbing. A lot of dishonest ones prey on the people like me that have no clue. I am an easy prey because I just assumed that I needed a new one and probably could have been sold most anything. :0003

I was leaning KOD way because I was in the home remodeling business back in the early 80's. We sub contracted everything out, whether it was windows, siding, kitchen, bathroom, roof, deck, whatever. If one of my subs went out to do a roof for me and told the people that he could do the job for less money, he would have been in big trouble. Subs should never steal business from the contractor, they're supposed to go do the job I hired them to do and keep their mouth shut. Of course he can do it cheaper but he's working for me in that case and under my insurance and I have a salesman to pay and overhead, etc, etc. I'm not in business to find him jobs to go steal from me.

Man, I'm done here.

Thanks for all the feedback. :0008

This helps me to see why you lean the way you do. I guess I see your point in that scenario.

Honest.

It?s in Lowe?s best interest to do what?s best for the customer even if that means underselling at times, especially if the customer recognizes it. When that water heater starts to rust out in a couple years, they?ll probably get your business.

I think you're wrong, Jack.

KOD definitely is. WTF is the guy supposed to drive to the job? A fucking bike? KOD? I thought you knew all about sub-contracting? When a sub comes in, he's in his company vehicle.

I only had one dealing with Lowes. When I first moved into our house we got three top of line screen doors. Pay for the doors in the store and they set me up with a contractor to pick them up and come install them.

The guy showed up in a unmarked van. He was a good carpenter and did a nice job. At the end when I wrote a check for the job, I asked him for his card. He said I would need to contact Lowe's for additional services.

But the crews they have are not always the best of the best. They are the Get By guys. They have knowledge of the industry , but they are struggling for jobs. And there is a reason for that and then the crew shows up at your house to do the due diligence. And you trust that they know what they are doing. After all Lowe's hired them didn't they ? Famous last fucking words there.

I have several trucks with no company logo., We have large magnet signs that come on and off.

It depends on the circumstances. If you are a true professional you stand up for what is right.

How is retired life treating you.

Did it make you crazy and now you are working part time just out of boredom of watching Days of Our Lives day after day.
