I guess my point is that I took you as saying that you don't think we can change anything over there, so why bother.
I will assume now that I was mistaken in my first assumption.
I do think that we need to continue to put efforts in improving situations over there for our fellow man, but I have frustration with Bush's plan. I do think we should "stay the course", but I would like to see a different course drawn for our continuation.
No, I didn't mean that but I can see where it might have seemed like it.
We should be aggressive in going after threats to America. Namely, terrorist organizations and terrorist states (one and the same in some cases nowadays).
Attacking, invading, occupying and rebuilding Iraq and trying to create and sustain peaceful 'democracies' in the ME does not fall in that category and is impossible.
We should accept the fact that we will never Americanize any country over there and we need to stop being so arrogant to think that we can.
We are currently spending lives and billions on a country and all we will have done is installed a radical Islam government. Or maybe not 'installed', but paved the way.
With all the shrill posts about 'terror' and Islamfascists, that doesn't really seem to bother anybody. 2300 dead, 16,000 wounded, hundreds of billions all just to get terrorist/Iranian sympathetic Muslims voted into office. WTF is the point of this 'course?'
