who told you that you passed the pee test ?
They tell everyone that so they won't be sued if you question it.

They may say that you passed but they definately wont tell you if you failed.

never know what it can show. You could have had codine or something that showed up. If they arent going to hire you, you get the cold shoulder. Thats pretty standard.

Just go look for something else. If they call they call.

c note - This employee had it in for him. He was a manager. He was married and she got too close to him. Then when he backed off she claimed discrimination and said he had fratanized her.

Hope it was worth it as he was fired. Wal mart is weird company to work for bottom line. He now says it was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Yes, I know for a FACT I passed, I have never done 1 drug my entire life.

Continuing the Saga........

Well, I called the hiring manager today, or hiring lady, I told her who i was, that I was hired last week, she remembered me, told her i was just touching base to see if they were possibly going to have a new hire orientation this week, and she said no, and that she would contact me as soon as they schedule the next one. I tried to pin her down, and see if possibly next week, and she said she wasnt for sure, but that she has my number, and will contact me when she knows when the next new hire orientation is----my question now is, is this the way they operate? Is this normal operating procedure?? I feel like im getting dicked around, but then again, this may be how entry level walmart hiring works. Does anyone know? Should I just wait around till next week in hopes for her calling me, or go find something else? WalMart is the #1 employer I want to work for, but if she is dicking me around, ill move on, but not too sure if this is just how they work or not. Anyone know?

Seems nuts to me. If they hired you they should put you to work. Or at least have a starting date for you to do so. This sounds like fun and games. If this is normal are you sure you want to work there. When I hired someone. I knew all of the above before placing the add.

Hemi, the short answer is Yes, this is how they operate sometime, if payroll is bad this week then new hires start next week and it keep getting pushed back until they come in on payroll, at Wal-Mart it is all about the bottom line and nothing else matters, never have, never will. You are in 1 zillionth place behind all the stock holders.

BTW, they have to pay for the drug test, and they have to justify why they did not hire someone who passed a drug test after paying for it, they are not expensive, but believe me when I tell you they watch every penny when it comes to expenses.

They proably have to have a certain number of people before
they do a orientation.

Just hold out another week, it sounds like you got it to me.

ok guys, im getting a little worried here, and am going up to the store to talk to someone today. For the past 3 weeks Ive been given the runaround, and every time ive called the store, to ask when the next orientation will be, they tell me there wont be one this week, and if there is one next week, we will call you. So ive now waiting for 3 straight weeks to start my new job, and no phone calls. So i go up to the store tonite, to just ask a random associate if any new people have started, and one associate said 4 new people started on Tuesday (3 days ago) and another associate said they had a new-hire orientation this past monday (4 days ago) So now im kinda pissed, and I cant seem to get anywhere by calling the HR lady, should i go talk to an Asst Manager about my situation, or go talk to the actual store manager? Because I feel like im getting the runaround and getting the shaft here. Who do you think I should go talk to?

I'm a recent grad and was in the job market for about a year. I just landed a job about 4 months ago, so I know what you're goin through. The way I see it you could either chalk the last three weeks up as a loss and move on to find a new position or you go in there and talk directly with the manager that hired you(or didn't as it turns out). Try to remain professional and find out why you were never called. If you still don't get a straight answer, lay into her and let her know exactly how you feel and possibly talk to her superior and tell them how you have been treated. Personally, I would just move on. whatever you decide, gl

They played games. So now ask your self is this the type of outfit I want work for. Then after you answer. Go back on the hunt. In fact I would have kept looking while waiting for there call. You never know you may be working for a better out fit already. Waiting for a phone call may keep you sitting on your butt the rest of your live.
