That was so bad that even Kaepernick got up and told her it sucked! By the way, no one ever said to put Kaepernick in jail or to put Fergie in jail. Her rendition of the song sucked and Kaepernick picked the wrong place to protest. No one is taking their rights away. Just using ours to give our opinions. And the portraits , painted by racists, suck too. The one of Michelle doesn't even look like her.:mj07::mj07:

Kaepernick didn't pick the place to protest. He was a football player did you think he was going to start protesting by kneeling in front of some roofers or something? If you think kneeling during the anthem our that Kaepernick has been silenced in any way you're sadly mistaken.

My point is most of the complaints, if not all, about the "disrespect" shown the anthem is all false patriotism

1. He sure as did fucking pick it.
2. He may not be silenced (though we don't hear from him) he sure got his ass ran out of football for being a fuckstick.

Mission, I guess, accomplished.

Well...My point is when someone mutates the anthem it diminishes what it stands for. It should stand for respect of our country and values. You seem to advocate spreading this disrespect. If complaining about it is false patriotism, you just like to argue.

When did we get so uptight about this? Like FDC points out, there was not one complaint filed over Leslie Nielson's version, and that was about as mutated as it gets.

On the course!
I Just tuned in to the Montreal Canadiens game. The lady sang an awesome rendition of O Canada. You could hear a pin drop.

Our anthem meant much more to US citizens when they feared the country falling to Japan or Germany.

No one has fought a war for this country in 70 years. That's a mighty long time. The United States used to be represented by the farmer, and the common, hard working, blue collar grunt. Today, we are represented by every repugnant fuck that You see at Wal-Mart.

Didn't pick meaning he was a football player so obviously any "protest" was going to have something to do with that platform. That's all i meant by it, but who cares what my intent or meaning was on that as it has nothing to do with the point, but don't let that stop anyone from pounding their patriotic chest.
So the anthem is supposed to be observed with reverence and respect by all citizens, but those being discriminated against and anyone trying to raise awareness of said discrimination aren't deserving of respect?

It doesn't matter, forget I said a damn thing. Apparently expressing my opinion means I want to argue. I should have stayed away.

Because it's always selective outrage.

Many of the people saying it was disrespectful to the veterans and all that are the same people that bitched about confederate statutes being removed.
Taking a knee during the anthem is reprehensible and disrespectful to our veterans but a statue of an enemy general is deserving of reverence.

Whatever.

Naked gun was a comedy movie and supposed to be laughed at. Now a live event for the whole world to see isn't a comedy. Two minutes of respect for the country is not alot of unity and show of pride to ask for. We're becoming the rest of the world's comedy in real life. If I'm beating my chest so be it. Didn't anybody hear Fergie's rehearsal and say wait a minute?

Well what's wrong with my opinion? I beat my chest. You bang your drum. If you ride away on that high horse I hope your traveling music is at least in key.
