I'M Sorry u are afflicted with Low Self Esteem.
Usually a trait possessed by Women..Are U a Woman? Or just suffering from an abundance of estrogen?
 What women have you been hanging out with? I guess mostly ones with low self-esteem, but try not to make such sweeping generalizations about the sex you might not understand so well...
I didn't read every post in this thread, so sorry if I rehash points, but I am very upset with this new invasion. It is not even Israel's war - much less our war.
"The missiles destroyed several homes in the village of Qana as people were sleeping. Rescue officials said at least 60 people were killed, and the bodies of 27 children were found in the rubble, Reuters reported." (7/30/06)
WTF???? WTF???? WTF????
Hasn't anyone learned from history? Hizbullah is a "state within a state". In 1982 the Israeli government "defeated" Arafat and the Palestine Liberation Organization. That war killed thousands of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians and hundreds of Israeli and Syrian soldiers. It did not bring peace to Israel, but it did bring hardship to Lebanon. Now they are trying again to defeat a "state within a state".
The tension has been mounting, but to use the killing of two soldiers and the kidnapping of another as a reason to invade is not justified. What is Israel's aim? To rid Hizbullah of its power to strike Israel. Many of Hizbullah's rocket stores are concealed in villages. Israel says they are killing civilians by accident, but the disparity in firepower causes Lebanon to suffer more.
Israel is not going to "win" this war. You cannot force clandestine operations to submit to a humiliating end (as we are learning daily in Iraq). They will not formally surrender. All Israel is doing is weakening an already weak Lebanese state that was trying to impose constraints on Hizbullah activity.
And killing plenty of innocent civilians in the process...
And all this talk about nuking everyone - come on... Do we want to get nuked? Remember Hiroshima & Nagasaki and the horror we inflicted on those people. How can we allow our friends in India to develop nuclear technology without signing the non-proliferation agreement? Other countries are sure to follow. It is a dangerous world, one in which no one should be allowed to develop and use nuclear weapons, including the U.S.
A colleague of ours recently passed away. He was one of the scientists that worked on the secret "Manhattan Project" and afterwards became a champion for non-proliferation. In addition to a letter signed by 70 well-respected scientists (including 30 Nobel Laureates) asking for support for non-proliferation, his wife included a letter I will post below.
CENTER FOR ARMS CONTROL and NON-PROLIFERATION
Let me add my voice to that of Professor Herschbach, Hans? former colleagues, and the other scientists who have endorsed this effort.
My husband, Hans Bethe, was a realist but also an optimist. He believed in man?s ability to reason. However, he knew what ignorance and fear can do to people?s best intentions and that people would not easily forego what they perceived as a powerful weapon. Because these weapons were born of science, he advocated education that would lift science and technology out of the realm of magic. He advocated arms control to prevent fear and political ambition from leading to folly.
The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and the Council for a Livable World are active in both these endeavors. It is a very long term effort with ups and downs. It is very important that it go on, especially in a down period like our present one.
