Do you eat meat?

Not trying to start a huge ordeal. Just asking.

I eat every piece of meat of any deer I kill...or donate it...I'm a 30 year old single dad and I promise I benefit hugely financially and nutritionally from feeding on any deer I harvest. It's been the way of the world forever....humans eat meat. How that meat is retrieved has evolved overtime, but still the same concept..

So I'm more of a man if I let someone kill the cow, chicken, or pig for me? Have you ever seen the way cows are killed for beef?

Again not trying to condone what we see above....that's disgusting when done for a prize or the thrill of the hunt......and I'd say the same for hunters who only want the rack off a deer....but last year we donated enough Venice to feed 4-5 families for weeks to different organizations....and fed ourselves..

If someone is a vegetarian I suppose they can say whatever they want about me...but to eat meat from cows that are killed viciously, and then say I'm a coward for killing what I eat myself I just never got it....companies are making billions off of the beef and chicken and pigs they kill....so the alternative to me killing the meat I eat, is paying a billion dollar company to do it for me?

People sometimes like to think they are above certain things....but seriously, how is it any better to eat meat and use the excuse, "I didn't kill it so it's ok".

Wikipedia:

Rhinoceros horns, unlike those of other horned mammals (which have a bony core), only consist of keratin, similar to human hair and nails. Rhinoceros horns are used in traditional medicines of both Europe and Asia, and for dagger handles in Yemen and Oman.

Contrary to popular belief, the market for rhino horn is not largely driven by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine specifically. Rather, Vietnamese are currently the biggest consumers of rhino horn and Vietnamese demand drives most of the poaching which has shot up to record levels. Some wealthy Vietnamese inhale the powdered horn as a status symbol; in Europe and Vietnam, rhino horn is believed by some to have aphrodisiac properties.

In March 2013, some researchers suggested that the only way to reduce poaching would be to establish a regulated trade based on humane and renewable harvesting from live rhinos. The WWF however opposes legalization of the horn trade, as it may increase demand, while IFAW released a report by EcoLarge, suggesting that more thorough knowledge of economic factors is required in order to justify the pro-trade option. The South African government has supported the establishment of a legal trade of rhino horn stating that at the 17th Meeting of Conference of the Parties to CITES (CoP17) in 2016 they will apply for a legal trade in Rhino Horn in an attempt to reduce poaching and prevent the extinction of this species.

To prevent poaching, in certain areas, rhinos have been tranquillized and their horns removed. Armed park rangers, particularly in South Africa, are also working on the front lines to combat poaching, sometimes killing poachers who are caught in the act. A recent spike in rhino killings has made conservationists concerned about the future of the species. An average sized horn can bring in as much as a quarter of a million dollars in Vietnam.

Harvesting deer as a good Hunter is a good thing, when the deer population is high you run then over with your car and that's the truth. State of Wi really screwed up the Population the other way, they gave out doe tags about 5 years ago for $2 a tag.. Every fuxking city slicker were shooting about 3 deer, then you had 2 bad winters and the DNR reintroduced the wolves a few years back, now everyone is crying about there is no deer blaming it all on the wolves when man should blame themselves but that's a rant, kiddos to you for being a good sportsman, the hunters I can't stand are bear hunters who use dogs, pisses me off.

Whoever did that to the rhino.. I hope someone does that to you someday and leaves you nut less

I have nothing against hunters. The thing is, when you pass on a deer so you can get one that would look better on the wall......it ceases to be about "putting meet in the freezer".

That I would not argue with....I would actually totally agree.....as long as they eat they meat i don't care if they want to wait for a more mature deer regarding antler size......again as long as they eat the meat
..if they hunt just for the kill they are fucked in the brain

My issue is people calling hunters pussies or cowards for killing a "innocent deer"....but they will pay someone else to kill their meat for them......not only will they pay for their burgers, but they will pay even more if a person kills a better beef cow to produce high grade steak....

"Innocent deer".....well unless the cows/pig/chickens are all on death row, I'm pretty sure they are innocent too....

Innocent haha....I'll keep watching the news for bank robbing steer, or a homicidal chicken...they are all innocent...

It's the way humans have survived forever....eating meat lower on the food chain....is it right? I don't know.....

If God exists, it must be OK or he would have given us an alternative way of survival

And if evolution is the true way of life, well that's what evolution is....survival of the fittest....

So either way I have no clue if hunting makes me "morally wrong" or not.....but calling hunters pussies and then paying someone to kill the meat you intake is a joke....

Not directed towards you yyz....just tired of people bashing all hunters.....the ones who do it for the thrill of the kill or a trophy...fuck em thats disgusting to kill for fun or pleasure other then the pleasure of eating meat to survive....

i was with you until the last paragraph....nobody in this forum has to kill anything themselves to put food on the table..unless.maybe if you live in Ghana or mozambique...

let`s be honest...some enjoy killing animals and it`s considered sport(it`s an accepted norm in our society)...and some find that abhorrent.....when the dear population reaches an unstable number,do you really think guys go out and kill their quota as a public service?...or for the blood sport of it?...

I'm not making a judgement...but personally,i find the idea of hunting and killing animals without any risk involved a little cringe-worthy (that`s just me)....I'd tell you to take up boxing or something....

that said,i certainly would never advocate to take that right from a hunter...it`s ingrained in our culture.....

again, that`s a personal opinion and nothing more...i have a much bigger problem with people trying to force others to live the way they want them to live...

...

Are you referring to a vegan type diet when you say Noone HAS to kill a deer to put meat on their table? Cause that i can't argue...but converting everyone to a vegan is the only alternative to hunting......cause as long as we eat meat, saying "none here has to kill anything to feed their families" is a hard sell when the only alternative is paying someone to do it for you....cows and pigs are usually killed with a tool that shoots through their brain.....chickens are butchered...thats no different then hunting
.....they have just as much right to live as the deer does....but just because it was done on a farm people forget about the animal dying...

You are a good one sir and you know I respect you.....and im just conversing with ya not trying to argue angrily i hope it isnt coming across like that....but why is it less "cringe worthy" paying someone to kill a cow/pig/chicken compared to harvesting a deer and feeding yourselves....I don't understand that....

A buddy of mine, a good guy is avid hunter, he posted a video of this turkey a beautiful one with great markings and he and a few other commented on how beautiful it was and how if it were him his adrenaline would be going and be ready to let it rip. I personally do no get that adrenaline or that thrill so hunting really isn't in it for me.

Look at duck hunters, I know many and those guys are giving ducks away, you really need to know what you are doing to prepare duck or it sucks. There are hunters who are die hard animal eaters and others who just like to kill, if we did not have animal rights and conservation laws there would not be any animals left and you can take that to the bank
