I didn't even think that was legal. A giraffe?

Yes its legal. One of the websites that offer the service call the them the gentle giants so it makes sense someone would want to kill them.

That would just seem crazy to walk in a house and see a giraffe head I would probably be sick.

I have never hunted but have no problem with people who hunt deer and turkey. Most people I know who hunt freeze the meat and it feeds them for awhile. Growing up in the south it was a way of life for a lot of people.

"the bunker"
Still meat in the freezer. And a trophy on the wall. I have killed many deer but have not done so in many years. Do not have the desire any more. I have several mounts and the backstrap was delicous. Think what you want. Which I will respect. But hundreds of thousands hunt deer for sport and some meat in the freezer. Nothing wrong with it.

trophy?.....that`s the one issue I can`t reconcile..what is the sport in killing something that poses no threat and then hanging the carcass up on a wall like you just slew a dragon?.....it`s about as competitive as Floyd mayweather vs one of jerry`s kids...is it the "sneaking up" part?....do guys really get off on mortally wounding some harmless animal and seeing it writhing in pain?...

i understand that nature`s cruel..they`re gonna die and we`re all gonna die...but.if you don`t have to maim and kill shit, why choose to do it?....what`s the thrill?.....believe me,i`m no bleeding heart(as those that know me in here would attest)...I was an inner city kid and saw some nasty shit growing up....

i guess human beings can be conditioned to become accustomed to pretty much everything/anything...we`re all products of our environment......

Between The Hedges
I hunt Ducks, Deer, Turkey and fish the Gulf of Mexico a lot. I now shoot very few deer, as outsmarting a mature buck is just not very easy. I shoot very few Turkey because I do that the least. I shoot a few ducks each year on my annual trip to Arkansas. And finally I try to slay Grouper, Kings and Snapper in June and July. I eat most of what I kill and I have turned my wife and kids into fish eating machines. I spend time in the woods with my kids that could never be replaced and have a picture of my boys and I with my dad on a "hunting" trip that you couldn't pay me for. My annual Duck hunting trips with my friends obviously provide great times and fellowship, but it also provides thousands of dollars that is reinvested in the "sport", which helps the numbers be better than ever while they also taste great wrapped in bacon with a little jalapeno. When I want meat I kill a legal animal or fish and eat them. When I am "Trophy" hunting or fishing I devote my time energy and resources to taking a legal "trophy" animal or fish while allowing young/immature animals and fish to live. I totally understand how people can think that me sitting 30 feet up a tree for hours on in is a complete waste of time and ridiculous. I also see how people can't understand how anyone would want to go 50 miles offshore in a 30 foot boat to catch a few fish. All I can tell you is that for me and many like me, it is our "happy place". Call it an escape from reality, an internal call of the wild, or just some dude that wants to shoot shit up.......At the end of the day you either get it or you don't. If you don't get it then good on ya and keep doing you:toast:

BTW I really do not want to argue the morality and "life" aspects as we can take that way beyond hunting and play the whole eye of the beholder game. Just giving my perspective.

*****Had to edit to say..........I have zero desire to hunt any big game animal like the one posted by Jack. While I can appreciate the LEGAL hunting of animals in these African nations as a means of conservation(just blew some peoples minds) I have no desire to do it and anyone poaching animals for their parts should be strung up!*****

ALL kinds of ways to cook duck but wrapped In Bacon is delicious

And the picture of your fam. Awesome. Memories aren't bought or sold, they are made by those exact moments.

Fishing off the gulf sounds amazing....I'm an hour from Lake Erie and have pymatuning lake nearby which I believe is the biggest man made lake....its huge.....massive....for lake standards......but fishing the gulf sounds amazing.

Something I've always noticed in western PA, is a ton of Christian pastors are hunters....I got married in a church that had over 15 mounts in the pastors chambers and the room the Bachelor party was in.......don't know if that translates to other areas, and also don't care to discuss the morality of it....just always found it Interesting....

Remember funniest home videos with Danny tanner aka Bob f*n Sagat and uncle Joey aka Dave f*n Coullier..... They had that jackalope that gave me nightmares as a kid

The thing was like herpes....you'd go so long without em, but you know he was always right there waiting to destroy your tackle....

That's what that picture reminds me of....the dick jackalope, not herpes....
