Don't think the cops handled this well at all.
THe first cop grabs him and he doesn't know why so he pulls back and it is from there

All Charger fans in front and behind him say you got the wrong guy.
One of the cops should have said Ok hold up and lets talk to the guy.
Instead as typical cops do they said we have our man. Cuff him and stuff.
Good for the guy who questioned the arrogant cops. Wish he would not have backed down to the cop who said do you want to take this outside.
People have rights and that cop had no right to ask to take crap outside.

The saying to protect and to serve has really been lost along the way with getting a badge.

Yep, the arrogant cop at the end was the clincher for me.

If one good thing comes with cell phone videos is that bullshit like this can't fly under the radar like it used to.

In the past this would be a he said-she said type of thing and the police are always going to win that one.

Fortunately with this video I'm sure he'll take them to the shed on it and rightfully so.

Fucking sickening.

There has to be another side to the story here. They SD fans were saying you have the wrong guy, so something must have happended for them to come down there and it couldn't have been from him just yelling JETS JETS JETS.

Not that I defend the cops for what they did, but I am sure something is missing from what we saw.

Wrongfully arrested according to what we saw.

But the cop that asked the other fan to talk outside was not threatening him. From my viewing it appeared he was saying that if he wanted to discuss the matter, the conversation does not need to be hostile and to move it outside so the crowd can enjoy the game.

But that's just one take. It does appear from the video that the arrest was not called for.

I think he was threatening him in the form of keep it up and you will get arrested as well.
Once he started questioning the cop he was told to step outside. I doubt he was arrested but that cop was douchebag.

I have read a story or two saying the people around the guy saying you got the wrong guy was referring to the fact that someone was throwing crap at him for chanting J-E-T-S. My guess is the people around him were getting hit as well.

They say in this video he wasn't doing anything - but clearly - you can see at 00:10 he was being a tool. You can arrest someone for being a tool. He needed to go.

P.S. Agent, have you ever been arrested?

That's exactly right, as sad as that may sound.

You have to let them cuff you, and take up your fight along the way. You can't fight the cops and say, "You ain't arresting me!".....'cause guess what?

This video sure makes it look like the cops didn't come down to find out what was going on.
They came down and figured the guy wearing the opposing jersey was the problem and he had to go.
It was handled piss poorly by the cops.
If the guy was calm and cool he probably would have still been tossed but not arrested. Not sure if the game was decided when this happened(sure it was).
I think the guy was in so much shock since he didn't do anything wrong except cheer which is why he resisted to begin with.
The guy was not a tool so much as a fool, but that is not a crime.
He paid his money like everyone else and can cheer all he wants. He was not in an argument or throwing things.

I am afraid to go to a game and have a beer in fear of getting arrested. My friend drops F-Bombs all game long when we go.

whats the charge.....misdemeanor charge for being a tool in public?????

not sure i see that statute anywhere.......probably make up something about public intoxication, even if he was sober.

it's all about cops thinking they're always right and enforcing the law no matter what......you're not the right guy?? too bad, now the charge is resisting arrest......oh....and we'll toss you around, throw you on the ground and carry you out, just becasue we can!!!!

if he gets any charges. i'd sue the shit out of those fuking assholes (and would look into suing them anyway)

Copy and paste from another site

Per a guy who witnessed the whole thing...

"Ok, lets clear things up
1. The reason the video looks clipped is because the guy was chanting Jets for about 20 minutes. The guy with the camera phone filmed him initially for that reason. Then, later, when the situation with the police went down he began filming again.

2. Yes, he did appear to be intoxicated, however, he wasnt being belligerent. The things said/done to him in response were much more inappropriate (ie. Shut the f up, throwing a bottle, etc.).

3. When the 3 officers initially approached him the first thing they said was CMon buddy, Lets go. His responses were Why?, For what? What did I do, etc. It was at that point that those of us around first started defending the guy.

4. After about the third request from the officers (who offered up no explanation as to why he was being removed) they grabbed him and violently threw him over the seats in front of where he was standing. It was at that point that the video begins."

I 100% agree. When I watched it I was wondering why the cops never even said what is going on here. They had there man and that was that.
