there`s one guy that has an excellent chance at beating gsp......and that guy is.....????

jake shields.....the one guy that probably outwrestles st pierre....short of a lucky k.o. shot,it`s gonna take a big time wrestler to stop gsp`s takedowns...and maybe get some of their own....
Koscheck is world class and GSP took him down at will. NObody is gonna stop those takedowns and sheilds and his pathetic standup isn't either. Only thing that is gonna stop his takedowns is a perfectly timed knee. Stunning a guy can do this who never wrestled in high school or college.

Dana says GSP next fight will be against the winner of Mike Swick vs. Martin Kampmann! Ummmmmmmm, gimmie a break! GSP will destroy either of these guys, I mean please! GSP, needs like 10 months off, and then fight Anderson at catch-weight. Of course I know Joe Silva/UFC can't announce a GSP/Anderson fight now (have to see what happens with Forrest). But why would you announce this:shrug:

There is nobody in UFC Welterweight division that can even give GSP a fight. And in MMA, maybe Shields, but my grandma has better stand-up then Shields so that solves that. Of course I'd love to see that prick Nick Diaz get back in UFC and fight GSP (Nick fights in like 9 different divisions) but that ain't gonna happen.

I am going to call Dana now and yell at him.

HUGE NEWS

http://mmajunkie.com/news/15519/ufc...-and-toronto-shows-to-2010-fight-schedule.mma

Just read this paragraph over and over again:

UFC CEO and co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta said the organization has "penciled in" Vancouver for a June 2010 pay-per-view event, and the executive also gave his "guarantee" the UFC will head to Toronto for what will be the "biggest mixed martial arts event in North America."

If Anderson vs. GSP is on that card, there will be 70 thousand people in the Rogers Centre and another 10 thousand in the parking lot. GSP is a fucking god in Canada, and Toronto is rabid for MMA. This event would be insane:scared

Dana White: ?Shaq wants to fight Brock Lesnar? :mj07:

Where does one go after dunking on a 13-ton shark? What?s the next step after defeating Damon Jones with a plastic knife and killer dance moves? Well, if you?re Shaquille O?Neal(notes) you challenge the UFC heavyweight champion of the world.

UFC president Dana White joined ?Into The Night with Tony Bruno? to discuss UFC 100?s impressive ratings, the possibility of a Brock Lesnar-Fedor Emelianenko match, and the desire of The Big Diesel/Witness/Twitter to step inside the octagon with the Coors Light-drinkin? champ. Sports Radio Interviews transcribes the gold:

?Shaq texts and Twitters me all the time saying he wants to fight Brock Lesnar. He?s been training for 10 years; Shaq?s probably the only dude in the NBA that can actually fight ? I told Shaq, I said listen, ?Win another NBA championship this year and then we?ll talk next year.??

White?s right; Shaq?s yearning to get in the cage is nothing new. He?s been training with Jonathan Burke of Gracie?s Gym for 10 years now, where he does the full gamut of MMA, boxing, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and wrestling. Cagewriter spoke with Burke in May who said that O?Neal ?works his tail off? during drills and ?has way more talent with this stuff than people would imagine.? And again, he dunked on a freakin? shark!

It?s a long shot to ever happen, but Shaq vs. Brock ? I would pay good money to see that.

Jeez anyone look at the odds on Dream 10, Manhoef vs Filho. Manhoef as a dog is very live in my eyes. Mainly because Filho could still be seeing ghost or whatever his problem was last time out.

Whoever is managing Filho really is a bad person, there is no way the guy we all saw fight last time out should be fighting already. This has disaster written all over it. I guarantee they have him roided up again and he feels good now. When he comes off this cycle he will end up killing himself. For someone with depression issues roids can be a big time downfall. I really feel bad for him at this point, he's nothing but someone's pawn.

mma wrestling-wise,shields is in another league than koscheck...check some of his submission wrestling matches out on youtube.....

he`s a beast on the mat...the rest of his game is ???...

btw,i took filho at -135.... ...maybe he has another meltdown.....i just think that wrestlers(submission wrestlers in particular),are like wolfsbane to manhoef....

of course,i had a complete meltdown at ufc 100,so maybe i`m starting out on a bad streak...

should be interesting....

Pops to Dana. Kick likes to call me a Dana hater but Dana seems to be clearing up all the mistakes i think he makes. He even had a sitdown and didn't curse once:mj07: This is a good move for Dana even tho Tito can be a dick at times. You have to look pass grudges and remember about the sport.

Tito Ortiz Makes ?Amends? With UFC; Matchup With Rich Franklin to Headline UFC 103?
Posted by Kris Karkoski on Jul 17, 2009 at 3:58 pm ET63 Comments

Tito OrtizFormer UFC light heavyweight champion and current free agent Tito Ortiz was a guest on TapouT Radio on Thursday, saying on the show that he had made ?amends? with the UFC.

?I?m very thankful for Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta from the UFC and I?m glad that me and Dana (White) kind of got to brush each other off. We may not still like each other or whatever but we came to amends ? which is awesome?? said Ortiz. ?I gotta thank Strikeforce for giving me an opportunity and I want to thank Affliction for giving me an opportunity.?

Despite being ?close? to contracts with Strikeforce, Affliction, and the now-defunct EliteXC, a return to the UFC was always considered a possibility, with some considering it the most likely option for the veteran 205-pounder. Ortiz last fought in May 2008, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Lyoto Machida to fulfil his existing contract with the UFC. He then underwent surgery last October on his back and has been sidelined since to recover and negoitate his next fight.

If Ortiz is indeed returning to the UFC, the obvious questions that need answered are when will he return to the Octagon and who will he fight. With Ortiz?s possible re-signing not yet official, neither is his return fight, but MMA Mania?s Jesse Holland speculates that Ortiz could headline UFC 103 on September 19 in Dallas against Rich Franklin.

Ortiz (15-6-1) was not won in three-straight fights, suffering losses to Chuck Liddell and Machida while earning a draw against Rashad Evans.

Franklin (25-4), who has won 3 of his last 4 fights including a recent victory over Wanderlei Silva, is reportedly in Las Vegas meeting one-on-one with UFC President Dana White to negotiate a new contract. ?Ace? has one fight remaining on his current UFC deal, but has stated in recent weeks that he?d likely sign a new contract before his next fight, which had been rumored to be the UFC 103 main event.

"Ultimate Fighter" season three alum Matt Hamill has sustained a knee injury in training and will be unable to face Brandon Vera at UFC 102 on Aug. 29 in Portland, Ore.

Krzysztof Soszynski (18-8-1) will step in for Hamill in his second stint as an injury stand-in. The news was reported by Sherdog.com.

Hendo/Franklin II

Hendo/Franklin II

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/hendo-franklin-2-announced-for-ufc-103-18633

Hope this wasnt posted yet

What does Hendo have to gain from this? Didnt he cut down to 85 to face Spider? And they are pretty much on the same schedule because Spider is facing Forrest so I guess I don't understand...is it just a revenge thing for Franklin? Obviously I think it will be a great fight but if Hendo loses then he has to climb a short ladder again to get a shot at Spider.

So much for Tito vs Franklin, although Tito thanking Strikeforce and Affliction is a pretty good indication that he must be close to signing with UFC again.
Just not headliner vs Franklin at 103.

I love Ace and hate Tito but that would have been a horrible fight for Rich. Tito would have been too big for him. Tito is one of the bigger LHW and Rich is moving up, he probably doesn't even cut for the fight. I don't think Rich would have been able to stop Tito's takedowns and I don't think it would be close.

Hendo is not getting any younger and needs to fight Spider now. You are right i think this move is silly but then again it might be all about money i guess.
