i don`t think anything rattles condit....he`s not wired like that....

penn will have to be sharp and strong for 3 HARD rounds...unlike fitch, condit will knock you out or sub you late...

it's possible. but i also think it's a pretty good matchup for BJ. I'm not saying it's all in favor of him. I'm saying that it's not a fight where I think he's gotta worry about being taken down and just held there. Who knows though.

Condit has 32 fights and coming off some very good wins. The guy is as ready as he ever will be. Penn is still good but looks a bit past prime, should be a good fight.

i think this is solid matchmaking...and to be honest, theres been some very solid matchmaking in the ufc of late,imo....

i think we should see an honest split on the line for this one....but i suspect that given penn`s huge popularity,he`ll open as a small to small/moderate favorite....if not,the penn contingent will hammer him as a dog...i`m seeing it already on other boards...

as far as the matchmaking of late, some under the radar fights look fantastic to me....pierce/hendricks...hardy/lytle....ebersole/hallman....russow/herman....meat/kongo.....

some serious matchmaking going on here...

UFC 136 gets second title fight as champ Jose Aldo meets Kenny Florian

http://mmajunkie.com/news/24419/ufc...ht-as-champ-jose-aldo-meets-kenny-florian.mma

This card is looking great. Won't do massive PPV numbers but an awesome card

Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard ( second fight was surprisingly great)

Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian (Should make Aldo a much bigger star if he wins)

Chael "Bets promo man in MMA"Sonnen vs. Brian Stann (If Sonnen wins and Anderson Silva wins we could have a HUGE rematch)

Demian Maia vs. Jorge Santiago (Maia with his new found striking skills against talented Santiago)

Melvin Guillard vs. Joe Lauzon (I don't see this going the distance)

I'm wondering with Matyushenko pulling out with injury if the Hendricks vs. Pierce fight will get moved to Spike TV or if Hamill vs Gustafsson will take it (probably the Hamill due the name recognition)

Want jon jones to sign your ufc replica belt?? goto hell!!

i guess in an radio interview he said that he doesn't sign replica belts because it's silly and that the people with those belts that "look exactly like mine, but lighter" didn't "work as hard as i did 3 days a week for 3 years."

now you guys know why i can't stand him, and have been saying for a long time on here that he's fake as fuck. rashad said it, and ppl slammed him. oh well, humble pie will come eventually.

i think the things dana said he worried about with jones being 23 and on top of the world are slowly but surely coming to fruition.

Six Five will like this. this is interesting that a major fighter would say this. If a fan said this the parrot puppets of the mma world wold say "u know nothing about the technical aspect of mma" :mj07:

Mousasi says:

"I'm going to run around a little bit and make my points, and then win the fight. Otherwise, the other guy will take me down and just hold me there and win the fight. That's what's happening to MMA now. They only want to take you down and just control you so they can win the decision fights."

"After the Keith Jardine fight, I think, 'OK, even the stand-up guys want to take me down now, So I'm going to just focus on that. Every fight, I'm going to be a boring fighter, that's what I'm going to do. I'm just going to worry about the takedown defense, and I'm going to win my fights.

silly post

not really. there is a big difference when the stage is bigger and brighter.

its like when the little schools get national coverage against the elite programs on the elite programs home turf.

a guy have have 100 fights, but if they're not with the bright lights of a drowning crowd soaring and cheering like it's going to be on this card, then you're never really prepared. gurantee his nerves will be on another level. BJ is used to this spotlight...I don't think Condit is.

but then again, i wouldn't expect you to agree. the highest level of competitive sports you've probably played is YMCA championship game.

Weasel explained it better to ya so im not gonna be bothered. To think all of the sudden Condit is gonna be nervous against Penn is a joke after all the high level fights he has had. U won't find one guy to agree with ur idiotic statement.

I think Condit's confidence is at an all time high. He had his run in the WEC and other promotions but had not yet tested himself at the highest level. He defeated Trigg and Verissimo prior to the WEC, two wins that showed he had a future but then lost to Shields and Healy. Then came his great run including the WEC title before he lost a close decision to Kampmann that should have won fight of the night.

I think that Kampmann fight started a fire inside Condit. He came back from the brink of defeat to take down Ellenberger and MacDonald then became the first person to knock out Hardy. Ok I think the entire top 15 in the division could defeat Hardy but the way he stopped him not many could do so. Add the impressive win over Kim and he is on fire.

I don't think he will be fazed by Penn at all. However he does have his work cut out. I can't see him knocking out or submitting Penn. For me this fight is about the gamplan that both decide. Will Penn try to take condit down or will it be the other way around. Condit does like to go to war with people. A slugfest with Penn could be risky but it also could gas out Penn quickly. Either way this a great co-main event.

I see Condit and Diaz on the same path. Same age and both in their prime and I think they would beat opponents who they fell short against in the past.

in a 5 round bout,i`d be on condit,without hesitation...in a 3,i can see guys liking penn`s chances...

Agreed. In a 3 rounder I could see Penn winning the first round and Condit the 3rd. Second round depends on Penn gassing. Either way this is a great fight. I just hope the injury curse does to mess up this card

Are you new? Do you really think I give a flyin fuck if anyone agree's with me?

High level fights? Like what? Against who and where? Gurantee he hasn't seen an atmosphere like he's going to see in the Penn fight. Dan Hardy is probably the only thing even close to that atmosphere.

Like I said, keep playing YMCA championships and thinking you know what a crazy atmosphere is like and how it gets to your adrenaline and nerves...
