Totally agree. I love the round robin and/or first rounds of tourneys like these. Much more open games.

Felt like France and Germany were way better than a team like Portugal but they got in a weaker bracket and then France just couldn't score vs defensive soccer today.

I was just glad the championship game didn't go to PK's. I wish they would tweak the rules just enough to make it more interesting...sort of force the action....but I know there are so many traditionalists around the world that would have a fit.

I don't want offensive "7-5" type games, but I also hate when its nothing but defense and then whoever scores first...its almost impossible to comeback. Oh well, time for a break for me but I will revisit soccer at some point in near future.

Good job PittsburghKid and will talk again soon :)

International Champions Cup

All of these plays will be small plays as these are difficult games to cap given the lineups and motivation. Man U will have more of their regulars available than Dortmund will, but I am basing my play on this game on Man U's next game as they have Man City on Monday. Doesn't matter what the circumstances, that game is a rivalry and even more so now since the new coaches are not fans of each other, which is putting it lightly. Mourinho does not like Guardiola and it not ashamed of it. My gut tells me that game is much more important to him and will be his focus. As such, I expect more of a defensive game tomorrow morning, and with Dortmund missing much of its primary attack, I will play the under. The number was a little surprising to me as I got U2.5+115. I could be totally wrong, but I do not see a lot of goals in this game.

Lots of good matches coming up to keep me busy until league season starts (thank God as I am placing losing baseball bets on a daily basis. I really don't understand how people can successfully bet that sport!)

Home favorites, RHP v RHP AL and NL

Home favorites, RHP v RHP AL and NL

Hey BASON, follow these two trends. Kenman tracked the NL trend after last year's AS break and I've been following the AL trend all season.

Two units on the ML and one unit on the RL

Eddie used to say that you had to keep an eye on the right-handed pitchers who got called up because they had to have a lot more velocity and control than lefties.

As I mentioned last season, right-handed people and therefore RHPs are easier to find. Therefore, to make it to the majors, a RHP might need better stuff, greater velocity, more control, than a LHP. Lines, for better or worse, are mostly predicated on relative pitching skills between the two starters. All other factors like hitting, fielding, BP are smaller parts of both the linesmakers' numbers and the public's perception.

A home favorite, especially after the All Star Break, RHP v RHP may actually be a stronger "favorite" to win than the line reflects.

Good stuff JNG, I will take a closer look. Thanks.

Baseball to me is very tuff to cap on a daily basis. I play around but I know too many people that have gotten themselves in trouble over the years playing the bases every day.

Couldn't have been more wrong about the total. Should have posted Dortmund as the play since I think I was right about Man U's motivation. Like I said these games can be tough to cap. Sorry for that one.
