Perry teed off I believe, sure I saw him +5 at some stage in his 2nd rd before disappearing off the board.
As I've got a fading Stricker over him, keen to find out the story

Perry teed off and +5 for the day after 10 holes when he quit; Ames didn't tee off.

While the PGATour.com site drops withdrawees from the leaderboard at www.cnnsi.com they have player scorecards that still remain on the server

So, had two 2-unit 72-hole plays on Ames and Perry and they withdrew. Perry would have lost against Herron, but Ames only had to break 76 to beat Gamez
mad.gif
And I had Ames to beat Perry today for 2-units and surely he could have done better than +5 after 10 holes
mad.gif
Oh well, thanks to DTB, I played his anti-Perry and Ames plays so not so disastrous after all

Stan - probably quicker than me trying to find GCS rules on withdrawls; do I win or push with Stricker over Perry then? Cheers mate.

With Lowery (e/w and over Roberts), Leonard and Hoch all in nice spots and O'Hern neatly placed in Wentworth, I'm smiling ...

Thanks for bookmark on WD's Stan.Thats 2 weeks in a row you've had adverse withdrawels on matches.Seems a little bitchin now and then helps as I had both go my way after some serious whining few weeks back

Heard remark during rain delay from Crenshaw that they couldn't figure out why Euros played doubles in Ryder so much better than U.S. David Feherty,my fav golf announcer, had great write up last month in Golf Magazine about the commradery of going to as many as 20 different countries on Euro tour and mostly flying together and staying at same hotels as a binding factor.Spoke of island of Albarella where Italian was played years back that had no motor vehicles. They were issued bicycles. Also had some amusing stories on some of players such as Brian "Save-a-Shilling Sharock,Richard Boxall,Derrick Cooper and several others I am not familiar with.I found article most enjoyable.

2nd round results today matches 1-1
Triplett/Appleby loss by 5
Lickliter/Brooks 6 up with Brooks having 1 to complete.
Will update 72 holes tomorrow but things looking positive.
Outrights Lowery hanging tough, other two stunk. Will have to give Durant consideration of being only a one spurt wonder in the future and Barlow was evidently pegged correctly by oddsmakers at 125/1.
More rain tomorrow

what's with all the golfers quitting?

Not going to be too many ruptured ACLs on the 9th?

2nd round update: 2-1-0 and +1.15 units

Triplett dropped five shots in his last four holes to crash out of the tournament and hand a five-shot victory to a fading Appleby, but at least Lowery beat him by three shots. In the other play, Watts beat Quigley in a low-scoring match. As for the rest, Ames didn't come out for the 2nd round, presumably he couldn't face the 6th hole again - he had a 10 there in the first round - but surely he would have beaten Perry who withdrew after being 5-over-par for his round after 10 holes!
Ames and Perry's withdrawals hit two of the eight 72-hole plays and they were two of the stronger plays as well! Perry would have lost to Herron, but Gamez finished at 12-over-par, surely Ames could have broken 76 in the 2nd round to win that one! Two of the other plays were decided at the cut: Triplett's collapse meant a nine-shot loss to Appleby, but Carter beat Daly by seven shots. The other plays stand 3-1-0 so at least we may yet break even on these plays: Howell and Quigley both lead Baddeley by five, Funk trails Herron by three and Lowery leads Herron by one. Triplett missed the cut, so the sole remaining outright play is on Hoch who currently lies 31st, but only five shots out of the lead.
3rd round plays:

Phil Mickelson to beat Stuart Appleby -175 @ Moneyplays
Phil Mickelson -1.5 strokes to beat Chris DiMarco -110 @ WSEX
Scott Hoch to beat Tom Pernice -150 @ Moneyplays
Frank Nobilo to beat Gary Nicklaus -110 @ Moneyplays

3rd round plays
Lowery +100 over Appleby @ WSEX
Brehaut -120 over Hensby @ 5Dimes
Nobilo -110 over G Nicklaus @ $plays
Watts -120 over C Paulson @ $plays

Finally logged enough rounds with rain this year to try an get some feel but appears rain does not effect players nearly as much as wind. This Brehaut fellow has played his best round in those involving rain so I thought I'd give him a look.
For those wanting to add rain round to your stats these are rounds of tourneys where rain was constant most of day.
Bell South 2nd rd-Nissan 3rd and 4th-Phoenix 3rd and Tucson 2nd.

Thought I might do a little swapping on interactives with Lickliter and Lowery increasing, however increase only modest and will hold and see what the day brings.

Will they get this show on the road.Appears I am going to have to do some work around the house (drat)till it starts.Think I missed a good 18 hole cont at Oly this morning in Lickliter -115 vs Hughes with Hughes being 1 up.They took all lines down early.Singh sure made big move today on Euro's,bet brother Stan is smiling.
Here is update on 72 holes as Flesch is only one not finished with one to go.
At the cut (almost)2-0 3 pending
Sposa/Ames Win
Striker/Perry Win
Dimarco/Flesch 6 up (flesch 1 to play)
Lowery/Roberts 4 up
Watts/Quigley 2 down (Believe the boy from down under may be for real)
=============================================Interactives: With wet course there will be premium on length. In an effort to pick up a contract of Mick I am selling all 3 of Lowery and 2 of Lickliter and adding $6 to it to purchase 1 share @ $30 of Mick.Total now invested $36.Have not lost confidence in Lowery but have him @ 50/1 in outrights so just diversifying a little.

Will not count as a play but will hedge $36 wager(amount invested in interactives) on field vs Lickliter +190,locking in minimum 77% profit.Have already messed up good opportunity by unloading 2 of 3 shares on Lickliter previously and do not want to come out empty handed.Plus Frank is averaging less than 1 under on back and all his bogies have come from that side.

Final update: 2-2-0 and -0.85 units for the 3rd round; 11-9-0 and -0.48 units for the week

Was undone by capping Mickelson for a Saturday round when he played it on a Sunday ... and you don't want to touch Mickelson on a Sunday! He lost his 3rd round match by two to Appleby and by four to DiMarco. At least the other two won: Hoch by four over Pernice and Nobilo by one over Nicklaus. The attempt to play 36 holes on one day meant no 4th round matchups were available and with the remaining two 72-hole plays losing, it was not the most profitable of weeks. Herron inflicted defeats on Funk and Lowery by four and six shots respectively.

Update on outright plays: 0-2 and -2.00 units

Hoch had got himself into the race in the 3rd round, but was never going to post a serious early total in the 4th. He eventually finished in 6th place, just one place outside a return on the investment! Of the rest, Triplett missed the cut and Gay didn't play. All in all, an uninteresting week on the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour ytd
Matchups/props: 237-184; +51.06 units
Outright plays: 8-54; -19.25 units

All Tours ytd
Matchups/props: 352-305; +44.62 units
Outright plays: 38-204; +68.63 units

12-2 this week and 27-7 the past two weeks
