Speaking of noise and crying.........in Juniors (I was 17 years old) after a point I jumped the net and punched this kid (he was 16) in the face. There was a ton of noise and crying during that match let me tell ya😲
I got suspended 6 months and lost my spot on the National Team, but it was worth it, oh so worth it.
Oh and funny side-note to that story.....about 7 years later I ran into his Father, and his Father actually thanked me for punching his kid in the face. He said "he deserved it". His Dad said he was out of control at 16 and needed to be taught a lesson, and apparently I taught him a lesson. Totally true story, of course it was a different time back then. Back then parents actually took responsibility for their kids actions, and didn't blame it on everyone else. His kid was out of control and needed a beating, and I gave it to him. Of course I didn't know his Father was on board, if so I would have done it in the first set and got it over with, instead of 2 hours later at 4-3 in the third set
And if anybody is wondering why I punched him in the face (I knocked out one of his teeth, it was a solid uppercut, he went down hard)....we had a history, so it was building....
The final straw was on a changeover he kept running his mouth how he was going to beat me up in the parking lot after the match. I said "you ain't going to do shit, so just shut up". He then said "well let's do it right now then". I said "I am not going to get suspended, ya want to get beat-down after the match in the parking lot, fine let's do it, but I ain't fighting you on the court". He then got up and walked back to baseline to serve. Then he turned to the crowd (match was indoors, about 25 people watching) and yelled at the top of his voice "this little bitch said he was going to beat me up after the match, he's all talk, like he's going to do anything, fuck this guy". I then jumped the net, ran over to him and put him down with a right uppercut. His tooth flew out and blood poured out of his mouth right there in the doubles alley.
Yep, it was so worth it.
