Because it's true. A vast majority of people outside of Chicago and LA will agree.
Uh no they don't not the people I know here in vegas and most of these people are transplants many from NY who hate the Bulls and Lakers . But they do retain the ability to reason. You can't just throw 5 guys on the court and take a nap chief. Multiple titles with a wide variety of conflicting personalities. Have never heard one of his ex or current players criticize him,I guess winning will do that. What else do you want him to do? How about if he takes a high school team to the finals? Or a wnba team. It takes talent combined with coaching talent to win multiple titles.

Why would u think I said P.Jackson is not a great coach? I love P.Jackson as a coach. Read my post again . Jackson is a living legend.

I was pointing out that Jackson is far superior then
Van Gundy.

So. Cal
phil's 8 year run in chicago from 90-98 might be the best strech of coaching ever, in any sport.

and his best one year job was likely in 93-94 without jordan

pippin was mvp type
kukoc was a euro getting integrated
pete myers was mj's replacement
jo-jo white and steve kerr were off the bench guards

and they got jobbed out of the best record on the final day of the season and then got jobbed out of the knicks series...both times by hue hollins.....he doesnt screw them over in either game and i swear the bulls were winning a 4th straight title that year beating indy-nyk in the east and hou in the finals

girls girls girls, what's all the chatter about...

your opinion on the merits of Phil jackson? your opinions on who's gonna matchup with who?

save it folks.

Watch the series...Watch the Magic make some things happen. Watch the adjustments Phil jackson makes over the course of the series. the adjustments -- whether it's putting Ariza on Hedo or Odom on Rashard, and how he and Kobe execute the offense to slowly find and then exploit the weakeness of the Magic defense -- if there is one he'll find it.. Just like they did in Denver. Someone said it earlier..this team is focused, not settling for a Western Conference crown. They have work to do and they lose a few games early ..until they adjust..but they will find how to breakdown the magic and succeed and eventually win the title. and then you'll see how great of a coach Phil really is and how respetced (as a PLAYER) Kobe should be because those last two games against Denver he looked more like MJ than I've ever seen, making everybody on his team BETTER and being unselfish, but doing his thing when he had to. The magic are playing great ball right now, thanks to D Howard finally getting it off his chest that Stan van Gundy wasn't getting him enough touches and things have turned around -- and quick for the magic. Howard is still young and impulsive and it'll be hard for him to stay out of foul trouble.. Watch and watch closely..This is going to be a great series. The magic will give the Lakers a solid run for their money but the Lakers will walk away with their prize. Jameer isn't coming back and shouldn't come back..they've done it without him and it would be too risky to upset the apple cart of chemistry right now...Alston's playing great too. He can give the laker guards fits.

I love this series..SUPERMAN vs KOBE --the guy who's always been the second bet player in the league...he wants this more than he's ever wanted any title...and he's not going to be denied.

LAKERS MONEY LINE FOR THE SERIES. GYNORMOUS PLAY!

I agree young lady maybe value in Lakers considering Cavs were 8 to 1 favs in previous series. If Cavs would have won that series price would be even lower # for Lakers play. Books have made a considerable adjustment.

basketball Nut,

everyone said Rivers wouldn't beat jackson, but the Celts had the better team clearly..with 3 all-stars in the their starting 5.

The teams are a bit more evenly matched (i might even give the nod to the Magic in terms of having more talent, but it's how that talent is used...

I'm just saying watch and see.. players still gotta play and execute..

uhhhh, Lakers have/had 3 all-stars as well buddy....Kobe, Gasol, and Odom....lets not quickly forget. On top of the fact that Kobe is widely considered the best player in the game....that should account for something...

Van Gundy might be as good as Jackson at this point in their careers. Phil is past his prime. He might be 63 years old, but seems closer to 75.

Van Gundy is just hitting his prime at 47 years old. Also, I like rooting for a guy who is 5-9 and probably 230.

All this being said, I still expect the Lakers to win this series and give Phil his 10th title.

rowdy,

you count somebody playing in a rookie game two years in a row an "All-Star". .that was 9 years ago too. to my knowledge he never made the All-Star roster, you know the game with people like Kobe, KG, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash,..

You are right, I just assumed that he would've made one. However, I'd still rather have him on my roster today versus old and washed up Ray Allen.
