What's the limit?

Just being prepared for whatever, I ordered 500 rounds for my 357 online a couple days ago. it was only 100 bucks so I don't really care as long as I have something while everybody else does. My 357 has been in my same safe since 1988, will that thing still be safe to fire? I haven't even looked at it since then. It was new when put in there and only been fired maybe 10 times.

You?d be wise to take it to a shop and have them clean it up for you.
Guns not having been fired for a while can be dangerous.

Okay thanks. I don't think there's much chance it will be fired but with statements made like RAYMOND'S you never know.

Sounds good man! Going to give it a while and see where we are headed, but you are correct. I will have plenty of time.

Jack, gun is fine. Might order a little oil and give it a cleaning/lube to pass some time, but it is fine regardless.

Most calibers 250 rounds
.223/556 and shotgun shells were 500 / day

My reply was me thinking that since he doesn?t use the gun much, he may not be familiar with how to clean it more than the gun not being ready to fire. Piece of mind for a gun owner that doesn?t use it much is what I was getting at and could have said it in a different way than I did.
Thanks for saying it better than I did.

No doubt. Should have been more specific myself as I wouldn't want him trying to break it down. Beauty of revolvers are they are simple in comparison. :toast:

Case in point: My wife was just at the bank and the teller and Manager letting all patrons know that Walmart had 3 robberies in their parking lot after 9PM last night taking peoples purchases, not their handbags or wallets. Held up at gunpoint. Here we go.... note to all don't shop after dark with big purchases and be vigilant.:0corn

As of this morning, those numbers have been cut in half.....

I bought this on the 15th of March. Now, where I bought them, they are out of stock. Other places have the same thing for double and triple the price. Wow. IF they have them in stock.

Actually I just searched Google by Sku and the place I bought them isn't saying they're out of stock and are only $10 more than I paid. Maybe they say they are out of stock after you try to purchase. IDK.

I understand the run on guns/ammo if you don't have any and you've decided that this COULD get to some scary apocalyptic scenario where you'll have to defend your home and family against intruders, but if you already have multiple guns and some ammo, what is it you are stocking up for?

Pretty sure every warm hand in your household should hold a loaded gun when they come. The kids can help defend your crib (as we have learned from Kevin McCallister and Carl Grimes). I only have a couple bird huntin shotguns, so we are digging a moat. Maybe fill it with wooden spikes like they did at the Battle of Winterfell.

Because if you come looking for Jack to take his things, you are a big guy Gary and it would take more ammo to knock you down.

Still thinking about this and here's what I came up with:

1. You shoot for sport and are worried the run on ammo will be depleted so you are trying to get in front of that
2. You envision a scenario where you might have to kill everyone in your neighborhood
