madjacksports 4th annual superbowl party in Vegas

let's start talking about it.

last year 50-some attended.

we had the party at sunset station with our own private conference room, stadium type food, open bar, big screen TV, gave away a few sportsbook accounts and some madjack tee-shirts and Gameday golf shirts and more.

the cost was $100 each (almost exactly what they charged me).

we met Saturday at the sportsbook for a day of college hoops and getting to know each other.

some met Saturday night for dinner (about 25?)

people stayed all over town but most probably stayed at the sunset where we were able to get special pricing.

rooms are tough to get for that weekend so if you're coming this year, you'll have to start thinking about making reservations.

i'm hoping for at least 75-100 this year

let's hear who's coming and hear some suggestions for making this year's party better than the last three.

let's hear the questions as well.

I know I decided at the last minute last year not to go, and I regret it. I was in the midst of a tough semester (part time MBA) and couldnt find the time. However I will be finishing in December and I am already starting to look forward to the Superbowl trip. If necessary I will cancel a trip to Vegas later this year in order to attend. I dont have many questions:

- Are non-MJ'ers allowed to attend? Quite a few of my friends lurk here but dont post, I think they would be interested, as well as a few others I know who do not lurk here that I go to Vegas with 3-4 times a year. If not no big deal, just wondering what the policy is.

- If you stay on the Strip, whats a cab run from Sunset?

i always get there on wed or thur and leave on mon. some come on fri and leave sunday after the game. everybody does it differently. this thread will run until we put together more definite details and then we'll start the 'official' thread

No, she's my good luck charm. If you want to know why the Bears won two games in OT last year, why the Titans' McNair couldn't get an inch against the Ravens on Monday Night Football, it was because of her good kharma.

... and she stopped speaking to me at halftime of the Eagles/Bears game, so that was her fault, too.

I can only speak for myself
(I carry a concealed Glock 40 or HK USP9 depending on my mood) but not while attending MJs Superbowl Party of course.

We had a great time last year you can definately expect us.We have reservations already we are doing the 7 day thing fri-fri for the guys who would like to get there wives-girlfriends out there the shopping is great and me and my girlfriends are very friendly and tons of fun where ever we go,so besides all of the sports betting going on we will be out at the clubs the malls and at the blackjack tables where we seem to draw a crowd because weather we are in A.C or Vegas we have a great time and of course would be welcome to hang out with us too if they dare LOL!!!!

I thought I paid about $40 in cab fare maybe I just gave the guy a $10 tip but I know it was more than $25 We actually rented a car but the sat. get together for hoops was a little early for me so we met there the time difference from here and there has all those games starting so early.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it wasn't her kharma.

My mob friends fixed those three games. Please tell her we are pretty nice people though, most of the time.

Thanks for posting this thread, brings back good memories from last year. We stayed at the Sunset Station and our Executive Casino Host, Mr. Bob DeFroda, treated us like a king and queen.

My only regret is not using his card very often, probably made 3-4 dimes worth of bets, where I never showed my card. Just forgot to show it at the window or tables most of the time. And I'm not a heavy hitter like most of the Madjack party participants.

Having lived in Vegas for ten years, and leaving on Monday - my wife informs me she is never coming back until we move back. Su misses "home" like one couldn't imagine. I may have to come solo this year.

What ever arrangements you decide on will be fine with me. Great people, great fun!

not a bad idea to secure your room now either. last year, superbowl weekend was vegas' first complete sellout weekend since 9/11.

i'm getting excited just thinking about it.
