Fletcher put me down for a room at Sunset. Will be checking this thread for updates. Jack, do I need to send you the $100.00 or just pay when we get there?
you need to send me the deposit because the amount of deposits received is how many places we reserve.
if i reserve 75, they charge for 75 and will allow up to 5 more last minute guests.
i forgot when i have to give them the final count. i think sometime in december, so we still have plenty of time.

Fletcher.... Just curious... any idea on a rough range on how much $$ the rooms at Sunset will be? I'm trying to see if I can get out there this time! $$ is definatly a factor to me.... When you convert our Canadian $$ into US $$ we don't get very much back
Also what is it like to drive down there... Pay for parking?? safety?? etc etc... or is it best to just fly down there and cab everywhere??
Any other Canadians heading down for this?? anyone in the Vancouver area???

I just thought I would let you all know in case you don't, and it hasn't been stated here...but, Sunset Station is almost 20 minutes or more away from the STRIP....
It's kinda out in the boonies and away from the action. Maybe that is what you want, and maybe not...but I think everyone should KNOW.
This is not to say that Fletcher doesn't do a great job organizing this stuff, he does. And thanks again Fletch.
Looking forward to my third year at the MJ's SUPerbowl Extravaganza....

It is very far away and fairly expensive to cab out to. I will be staying with 3 other guys on the Strip at Ballys, so a cab wont be too bad split 4 ways.
Personally, I never rent a car when I am out there. Too damn crowded and too easy to get places using all the trams and taxis.

for people that are just staying saturday and sunday, sunset won't be bad because most people spend the whole day in their sportsbook on saturday (tons of college hoops) and the party is there on sunday. and..... fletcher walks around with fistfulls of drink tickets for free drinks at the sportsbook
and, please, please get your rooms booked as soon as possible because last year the whole city was sold out. you can always cancel your room if you can't make it there because of some last minute thing that comes up.

i might make the cutoff at 75 people, so get your deposits for the party to me as soon as you can too. the deposit is only refundable if someone takes your spot. the sooner i make the deal with them, the better price i will get. if it comes out under $100 you will be refunded the difference.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about some half decent room deals on the Strip and they are already starting to sell out.
Question on the drink tickets, of the places I usually go on the Strip, the drinks are free in the book if you are playing games. Having only ever been offstrip to play poker at the Orleans, how does it work?

sunset gives drink tickets for players but i always bet from my room with my offshore accts. so fletcher will have plenty of tix for people that aren't playing there. different casinos have different rules.
WAHAHAHA! I thought I was the only one that did that. In Vegas for the opening of baseball season this year, spent an hour comparing lines with my offshores, Sportsnow pager and the linesheets from Ballys. Too f'ing funny.
the conference room has been reserved. we got a big one this year. it will accomadate 250 people. i am estimating that 75-100 will show so we will have plenty of room to move around. we will have 2 8' tv's, plenty of food and open bar.

Jack you said earlier to wait until middle of month to reserve our rooms at Sunset. Now yesterday you said to book now. Do we get our rooms at a special price this year like we did last year? Let us know. Thanks.
we are working the deal for the rooms at sunset 2 and 3 day packets for about 200-to 230 range for the total for 3 days.
for who ever said it is in the middle on know where it is right in the middle of the largest growing part of the valley and one of the upscale areas of the valley green valley and whittney ranch. you have the largest mall in vegas across the street,6 other strip malls with over 30-50 different stores all with in a 5 block range over 50 restaurants with in 3 miles and 20 with in walking distance. far from the sticks as some one said and its 8.2 miles from heart of the strip if a cab is taking you 20-25 mins then you are being ripped off because freeway 215 takes you right to front door from strip. and rooms are nicer then some of the strip hotels named before and bigger for less then half the price. live shows and music everynight at club madrid and 10 movie thearters and 9 restaurants and 24 hour cafe sunset grill. so far from a dump or in sticks but if you want to spend at least double the price go to strip.
if not wait on me trying to get 20 rooms at that price then you will be told how to book it and through who. please list names who are intrested in sunset in thread below so i can get a count,you can see pictures of it in last years super bowl thread,trust me isnot a dump. and you get treated way better then you will on strip i think i know the casinos alittle better then the people who don't live here.
