I mean if I was a crotchity old lonely piece of shit, I wouldn't want my yard being used as the neighborhood highway either. But I've yet to see a kid walking through a yard, errrrrrr lawn, do any harm to it.

I am trying to imagine myself sitting there fretting about someone "using and abusing my turf" but I can't conjure it up. It's shitheads like you guys that forced everyone into backyards with privacy fences instead of front porches and community. Enjoy your little slice of heaven and don't worry, my kids won't be walking on your precious plant life. Mostly because I know you spray a lot of harmful shit on it.

Have a nice day! :0008
........................................................

the problem is that when kids use a cut through
it soon becomes a dirt path.

no one wants a dirt path thru their yard.

do you still use a outhouse ?

It's a matter of respect for others and their property. I would assume the issue is creating a path that wears down the lawn - that would be irritating. It's just rude and insensitive, and it's the kind of thing parents used to teach their kids not to do - because everything isn't about you. Sure, some old codgers might take it too far, but why is it so hard to respect others and their property?

shouldn't be..

problem is that parents today think their children are entitled from conception..

everything in my world you earn..

that includes RESPECT

don't like those rules..

go live by your RULES in your SPACE on your TIME..

not my responsibility to tolerate anyones children..

it's the parents responsibility to raise the children in a manner where the children never create an instance to be untolerable.

it's called

ACCOUNTABILITY..RESPONSIBILITY

The whole point of the thread was what a woman posted to our sub-division of about 50 homes.

I think she handled it wrong.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Some woman posted this on our community's Facebook page.

This should get her some friends real quick. :0003

Parents, please ask your children to use sidewalks and not cut through yards- thank you.

this stuff is all fine and dandy, but it also smacks of being a grouch.

I guess I am in Old School's corner on this one. I get a little cranky when the neighborhood boys are playing football in my front yard because I have the biggest yard, when I know for a fact that the Dad of three of the kids has told them not to play in their own yard because it will destroy the grass.

I was always taught dont cut through someones yard, NEVER PLAY IN SOMEONES YARD unless you asked for permission or their kid is playing too and finally for fucksake if you dont want them in your own yard why send them over to your neighbors.

I am serious about this. Really. And I don't mean any disrespect to anyone who believes different. I just see it in a way that makes me think otherwise.

If I paid money to have a nice lawn. And people walk on it. I am okay with it. Why?

Because it is a lawn and there are people in this world that don't have clean water to drink - let alone a lawn to have a cow over.

When you put things into perspective - caring that much for grass is silly. Putting that much money into a lawn is fine. I get it. But I am not going to fuss over it. My brain won't let me.

So what do you guys do with your lawns? You don't walk on them???:mj07:

You are missing the point. Personally, dog poop in my yard is much more irritating. The bigger issue is that children should be raised to respect others' property, period. Children do not play in my yard, they play in their own yards or at the park. They walk on the sidewalk where they are supposed to. No reasonable person cares if someone steps on their lawn. Repeated use as an alley or for a sporting event would obviously garner more serious annoyance. The underlying issue, as usual, is the lack of common courtesy toward others, replaced with the entitlement attitude.

Just wait until someone breaks an arm playing football or falls and hits their head playing tag in your yard. The next thing you know there's an official looking letter in the mail from some scummy attorney and you are getting sued. Unfortunately the attorneys have ruined the way of life. There's public property and private property. Respect the difference.
