Wow, is UFC 97 one of the best looking cards ever or what? If they had a better person to face Silva then I think hands down it would be my favorite top to bottom.

Hardonk is a good size dog and I think at worst he should be even. I may really hit him hard if he stays this size of a dog up until fight day.

I'm actually really looking forward to the main event... I think Leites will give Anderson fits with his ground skill. And yes, he can take Anderson down... anyone that really tries to take Anderson down has taken Anderson down, but Leites is actually BETTER than Anderson on the ground, unlike the other dudes.

However, i read an article that Anderson is in Brazil working with Andre Galvao AND Jacare De Souza!! :scared (Both guys are BJJ PHENOMS... like Damian Maia-level phenoms)

I don't think people are giving Leites the credit he deserves.. his first fight in the UFC was bad (Kampmann), but since then he has gotten much better. Also, for him to survive the illegal shots from Marquardt was a feat in itself.

p.s. Anderson is gonna lose soon. :SIB Dont say i didn't tell ya so. I think Marquardt will beat him the second time 'round if he manages to sneak by Maia.

If Anderson wins his next 3 fights or so, he should retire as the G.O.A.T.

Anderson Silva isn't going to lose to Leites. You mention that Marquardt fight, but if it weren't for the 2 point deductions, Marquardt would've won hands down...sadly, I think you still could've made an argument that he won, even with the deductions!! Leites is far from dangerous to Anderson Silva.

Marquardt could potentially give him a run, but I don't see much different then the first fight.

Anderson will retire had never lost in the UFC.

Raw, he's good on the ground but not great. I don't think he's that much better than Silva on the ground, if at all. Silva just doesn't have to rely on it as much.

Also, the Nate fight was pretty one sided and even with 2 points being deducted it was still a split decision. I wouldn't be suprised to see Anderson go to the ground with him just to prove he can submit Leites.

I would love to see how he does vs Jacare. That guy is a beast and needs to be in the UFC. He has a very aggressive bjj style that to me is very entertaining to watch.

never said he was going to lose, said he would surprise some people.

I personally consider Leites a notch above Anderson on the ground... he has a heap of formal grappling competitions under his belt, and this is so key to being a high-level black belt IMO. I realize this is MMA, but for anyone to say Leites isn't a threat to Silva on the ground is fucking bozo (not referring to you, layinwood). And to make his grappling even more of a factor, Leites has some slick takedowns/judo throws and a lot of times he falls right into side control....

Moving on, I can comfortably say that Marquardt beat Leites, but again, I think Marquardt has improved since facing Silva and will beat Silva next time (if there is a next time).

Just saying I think Leites will surprise some people, nothing more....... I'll have a small play on him b/c I know that he has the ability to submit Silva. I'm just not one of those guys who thinks Silva can do no wrong... Henderson, Franklin, and Cote fought Anderson's fight and they got what they seemingly asked for. Leites is the polar opposite of these guys, and that is a good thing for him. :)

I do think Leites' chances start and end with a submission, but at least i know that's what he's gonna TRY AND DO, unlike Silva's last few opponents. I mean these sons of bitches dont even TRY and sub him, and to me that's the only way Anderson can be beaten. As far as we know it isn't even possible to TKO Anderson, yet that's what Cote and all these other retards try to do!

p.s. I'll get Dana on the phone right now and see what his feelings are about Jacare coming to the UFC. Maia actually beat him in a grappling tournament, but that would make for an awesome MMA match as well.

Raw, I could be wrong but I believe Jacare is 2-1 vs Maia. At the worst he's 1-1 but I think it's 2-1.

To me the UFC is wasting Silva. He could make for some BIG fights in the LHW division. I would love to see his precise striking and speed vs those guys. Plus we might get to see someone test that chin of his.

good call... yes 'tis true.. turns out Maia won a close decision over Jacare, but Jacare has SUB'd Maia in both gi and no gi tourneys.

both guys would sub me at least 5 times in a 2 minute span. :sadwave:

Wow, you're pretty cocky about your BJJ skills. I was thinking more like 10 times in 2 minutes. :142smilie

UFC, get Jacare. :director:

DREAM is on to something having already picked up Andre Galvao and Marcelo Garcia... these world class submission guys should be kept an eye on by the UFC.

Bunch of new odds up, guys.... couple of books even have Page/Evans already up.

I expected Efrain to be favored by less, but i do think he'll crush Stephens... also leaning Condit for April 1st.

If Rampage is SMART, which I don't think he is, but he should let Machida get his shot, then take the winner of that fight. It'll give him plenty of time to take 2-3 weeks off to rest up, then start his camp back up after that.

Machida deserves it more anyhow.

Wow, I can't believe Evans would be favored over Page. I was thinking I would be on Evans but I also thought he would be a small doggie. For the right price I would be on Page now.

Raw, I agree with you on Condit. As soon as I saw those odds I was loving it. If it goes to the ground the fight is over. But if it stays standing it could be lights out for him.
