Maryland is just not a team that can be trusted against quality competition right now. Turgeon continues to play with his lineups and he just can not get it right. Plus, you can not count on him to have his team ready on offense. They are going to struggle against good defensive teams and any team with a solid inside game. Also, not fans is a big deal for them at home. I expect them to be very inconsistent throughout the season.

Maryland Vs LaSalle
-15 133

No time for a long write up. Lasalle is not very good and Maryland should dominate this game. Maryland has had 8 days off to think about how bad they have been in the last 2 games. I expect Maryland to struggle in the Big 10 against big physical teams, but I do not think they will struggle tomorrow. First play is in:

Maryland Ov 132 -124

I expect Maryland to shoot well. Lasalle gave up 82 to St. Johns and 85 to UMASS. They also lost to St. Peters by 11 and Maryland beat them by 33. I think the total is set a little low because of Maryland's last 2 games, but this is a big drop in competition.

The second play will be on the Maryland TT as soon as I can get it.

Maryland vs Purdue
-5, 136

Can not bet Maryland on the road at this point. Only played one road game and they were terrible. I have to admit that I have not seen Purdue play, but they are always very tough on their home court. The kicker for me in this one is Purdue's big advantage in the paint. I do not think Maryland has any answers for Williams. He should go off. Purdue also has some length at the guard positions which is usually an advantage for Maryland. Given this, I believe the best play is:

Purdue -4 -130

Maryland has to prove they can play well on the road before they can be trusted and I think Purdue is a team that can exploit Maryland's lack of height and depth inside.

Merry Christmas to all!!

The Purdue game was a kick in the balls. Missed 3 out of 4 free throws to end the game to win by 3.

Maryland vs Wisconsin
9.5, 136.5

Wisconsin -9 -120

The only way I think this game is close is if Wisconsin has a hangover from their big win at Michigan State. I think they are a much better team than Maryland, so if they come to play they should win by 15+. Maryland has the same issues they have every year with Turgeon at the helm. The man simply can not coach offense and has trouble deciding what his best team on the floor is. They lost the Purdue game because they could not shoot free throws and could not rebound. Rebounding is going to be a problem for them all year. Another Turgeon tradition is making players worse over their 4 year careers. Not sure what is wrong with Morsell, but he has to get better or this team will not win many games in conference. Wisconsin is a strong overall team and I expect them to win this game rather handily.

Maryland came to play last night and took Wisky out of their game. Have to just give the credit to MD. The second half was some of the best basketball they have played in a couple years. Turgeon had this team ready to play. They hounded Wisky all night and they definitely struggled with Maryland's athleticism. Wisconsin had a big advantage in the paint, but they could not exploit it. You can tell Maryland worked hard in practice on defending it and it worked.

I will focus more on totals as this Maryland team is very hard to cap night to night. The Big Ten is an interesting conference this year as any team can win on any given night. No team seems to be that dominant, but they all have talent.

I have no idea how Maryland is going to respond after the Wisconsin game. I think we will see more pace in this game though. Michigan can score and has some length that I expect Maryland to struggle with, but while they are 7-0, Michigan really has not beaten anyone yet. I think this is a game Maryland can win assuming that they come out with the energy they had in the last game. I think we see enough pace and enough scoring to get this one over the total.

Maryland Ov 140 -123
