line

line

I was off by a few bucks on this one. Floyd is like an 8-1 chalk at the off shores. Don't know what the Vegas line is yet, but I will soon. Most likely just a clone also. Marquez-Pacquiao is in November and Pac-man is a 9-1 fav over Marquez. Seems Ortiz only had one fight at welter, and that was Berto. Marquez & Pac will be a catch weight 144lb affair. I say Floyd beats the 24 year old, BUT, if the third time is a charm, I like JMM versus Pac-man. Yea, it may seem crazy, but it was just as unlikely to see Kirkland get dropped 3x by a guy that wasn't supposed to be able to crack an egg. At 5-1, likely to leak up, unless I hear something very unusual, I will bet Marquez. I see value there.

you'll probably go to the fight with your buddy?

Not the Pac-man fight. Would love to but I'll take the $$$ and bet it. Maybe the Mayweather-Ortiz, but still, since its Mayweather, the scalpers will be out in force. I think May-Ortiz may be boring, but Marquez is not intimidated by Pacquiao, so it may be exciting. Actually Golden Boy is trying to set up Robert Guerrero and Marcos Maidana!!! That is worth it. Brawl city. If its in Vegas I'm all over it. You need to try and make that one.

maybe we can commute

san jose is 6 hours from where i live

i think i would have to head back home the same night

Vegas to San Jose; 538 miles! In all seriousness I'd have to bet a few dimes to make that trip worthwhile. Not that I won't either, but all indications have to point to a very strong play. Thing is Guerrero is my boy, so you know how I would play it.

More on Guerrero-Maidana

More on Guerrero-Maidana

Golden Boy promoter Richard Schaefer told ESPN.com Thursday that he is "putting the finishing touches" on a fight between Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KOs) and junior welterweight slugger Marcos Maidana (30-2, 27 KOs)
It's a big opportunity for Robert and another big fight for Maidana. A win here can really establish Robert in the 140-pound division. He's a big guy and can definitely move up to 147 as well. A win over Maidana makes him a factor in that 140-pound division, which we all know is one of the best in boxing. The winner could potentially fight the winner of Amir Khan and Zab Judah."
Thongie; I did'nt know it would be at 140 but I should have as that's Maidana weight class right now. Not too sure I love Guerrero moving up so quick, but at 5'8" 140 isn't really too much of a stretch, I think:shrug: .

you getting your tickets soon, frank?

i think they are on sale tomorrow

Sounds pretty good. Airfare is reasonable. I need to check start times and transportation from airport to HP Pavilion. Just checked google maps; 3.8 miles distance. I think I can handle that!
