Adding (1.5 units):

Retief Goosen to beat Chad Campbell -138 @ Bet365
Will pit Weir and Goosen against Campbell this week. Not as attractive odds as with the Canadian, but Goosen does have a much better chance of winning this event as outlined in the outrights selections. He is a proven player in Hawaii and that is something that Campbell has yet to achieve.
(also available at Aces, Pinnacle, Five Dimes and Olympic)

Vijay Singh to beat Davis Love -135 @ Five Dimes
Love is a proven player in Hawaii as his record in the Kapalua International on this course will attest, but even though he finished in the top-3 in six of eight starts in that event in the 1990s, the last one was in 1997. His two appearances on this course since that time have resulted in finishes of 8th and 16th, which do not compare to Singh's performances in the last four years. With the 2003 Money List winner holding a 8-3-1 h2h lead on PGA Tour events over the past year, there is still value in these odds.

Hey, fellas. Plan to spend the year here with you, as the only other real time consumer for me deals with NASCAR. So, going to hopefully focus on golf and the left turn league this summer, and try to win some gin, as they say. Best of luck to all, and thanks for all your posts. It really helps with my capping, and points me in directions I wouldn't have always caught or thought of. Yes, I steal the really good picks...:D. Unfortunately, I am currently pared down to a couple of books, neither of which have any good numbers. So, you can discount me as an idiot immediately...

I'll spare you the details of my ramblings, and just post picks. You guys know everything already. :tongue

Tournament Outright Win
2* Ernie Els +700
2* Retief Goosen +1400
.5* Fred Couples +5000
.5* Rory Sabbatini +500
Total Outright Units Risked: 5*

Tournament Matchups
1* Els +147 over Tiger
1* Sabbatini -137 over S. Micheel
1* A. Scott +103 over Appleby
1* Goosen -145 over C. Campbell
Total Matchup Units Risked: 4*

Tournament Investment: 9*

Best of luck this season. Cheers!

Only posted rarely in year last year, might see if my early season enthusiasm lasts this time round !:tongue

3/4pt e/w Goosen 16/1
1/2pt e/w Huston 66/1

Match ups:

2pts Appleby v Scott Evs - want to oppose Scott on these tricky greens - Appleby is also ranked far higher than Scott on the overall stats, so not sure why he's the dog.

2pts Sabbatini v Maruyama 10/11 - giving away 15yds a drive is a big handicap on the rain soaked track. Maruyama finished 22nd and 25th on previous 2 visits (out of 30 odd!).

1.5pts Triplett v Micheel 9/10 - Stan's already put this one up, but want to oppose Micheel (again largely on his putting stats), Kirk seems the logical choice, not expecting fireworks, but a win will do.

England, u.k.
Hoss, sorry about the delay in replying.

I backed Goosen at 17/1 with SIA. I don't normally play this book as I have continued to hear bad reports about them, but at that price, he was worth supporting and if I do encounter problems with this firm I will let all know. Goosen was also quoted when I posted at 16/1 with Capital and I think Canbet.

Spoke to Scotty last week and he said that he is very excited about the thought of playing regularly in the US this year. Grew up in queensland where the greens are generally very grainy so he shouldn't have too many dramas putting on the grainy greens in hawaii this week.
Scott +103 v Appleby
Goosen -140 v Campbell
Well done on last years efforts to all of you on this forum:clap: Keep up the good work!

So you know Adam Scott?

As he is one of the players I aim to follow and back consistently this year, will you post relevant info on here? it's really hard to get meaningful info from players websites.

I take a slightly different approach from many on this forum and follow particular players throughout a season and back when they're in form and the price is right.
For the record I'm going with:

Scott,Garcia,Howell,Ogilvy and Gamez in the US and Fasth,Howell(david),Evans and Jacquelin in Europe

Just wanted to wish everyone in here the best of luck this golf season. I have kind of "snuck" around here-but hope to be able to come in more as my interest level has peaked after attending last years final Major here in Rochester.

Two shots this week to win:
Love and Weir

Again-best of luck

1st rd results 1-1

1st rd both - .5 strokes @ WSEX

Goose -108 over Campbell win
Perry-104 over Flesch loss

Fortunate both didn't tie. Chances remote of getting 2nd chance on Perry/Flesch match at these odds.

redsfan, I know scotty well however only speak to him a couple of times a year namely the Houston Open which he has played the past 3 years and any other tournaments close to where I live that I have access to (live in south east texas for 8-9 months of the year). Will keep you updated on anything of significance throughout the season however feel free to shoot me a question if one arises. GL for the season.

Wannabe Whale, visited Rochester last summer and played in the Monroe invitational. Just curious, do you play at the course that holds that particular tournament?

hope everyone has a great year here. Judging from the past I'm sure most of you will.

3rd round at 5 dimes:

Huston -104 over Scott
Triplett -127 over Micheel
Kaye -115 over Flesch
also playing these 3 as a parlay-pays 5.55-1

3rd round 2 man parlay only at 365 (ties lose)
Furyk over lewis
Weir over Jacobsen

pays 1.54-1

good luck
