By the way .. excellent job by the pga tour upgrading their website :00x9

I'm struggling to find the replacement for TourCast ... it was supposed to be a much-improved leaderboard, but now I can't colour-code players and there is no Tournament Central in which to follow the groups. There aren't even the live tournament stats that we saw in the Playoffs last year. Please tell me I'm missing something

Yea im pissed about not having the color coding. I dont think the features are better, the site is just more visually pleasing than last year :mj07:

The fedex cup stats were helpful as well. They still need some improvements. I would shoot them an email but the email feature doesnt work :teknology

Choi needs to get it going. Boo is off to a solid start though

I was speaking to Andy Prodger about a month ago and he said that Choi really likes playing in hawaii and was looking forward to playing in both tournaments.

With a pretty weak field he's sure worth an e/w at 16s bluesq and bet365

Have dealted with Andy for many years at Colonial...he is a Great Caddy and KJ is luckey to have him. Played Golf with him once about 15 years ago on the Tuesday of the Tournament, when he was with Nicky Boy. Here is a link where he is in the "Haul" of Fame.

Q. Most first-timers that come here, usually they don't find a lot of success, but for 16 holes today you were right at the top of the leaderboard. What worked for you?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: My wedge game was great today. I was able to drive it well most of the day and leave myself just a bunch of short irons into greens and I made some good putts. You do that, if your wedge game is on, you can shoot low. Hopefully tomorrow I can do the same thing.

Q. Some technical difficulties on 17, what happened?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I've had that driver for a long time, and I guess finally it had too much and cracked on me, and the ball ended up going 180 yards right in the middle of the water. I thought I hit a great drive. But that happens. Unfortunately it happened at a bad time, and 18 was no fun playing a 660-yard par 5 with 3-wood off the tee. No complaints, though. That's going to happen. I'm glad it happened today and it didn't happen on Sunday.

Q. When you take a look back at what you accomplished last year, Rookie of the Year, the win, surprised at all how quickly you came out here and made such a big impact?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, definitely. I certainly didn't see it coming. I thought I had the game, I thought I could compete, but to come out here and have that kind of rookie season was something I really wasn't -- didn't get myself up for, but now that I'm there I have to work even harder now and make sure I don't slump back and keep improving.

Q. Goals for 2008?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Ryder Cup is first and foremost in my mind. To represent your country is such an honor. Azinger is the captain. If I get Ryder Cup taken care of, it would be a pretty unbelievable year and something I'm looking forward to.

Q. Taking your driver out of the bag. Did you have something in reserve hopefully?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I've got a backup but I've never hit it so we're going to find out. I'm probably going to get a couple sent over here so we're not freaking out on the range tomorrow trying to find something that works. It's a great driver, I've loved it for two years. I guess I'll have to switch now.

Justin Leonard -130 over Boo (Second RD)

A lot better stats.. played the back 9 at 3 under. Boo didn't have one birdie. Putted awful and hit the ball worst.

I tried to pick it up here--

http://www.tour-tips.com/fpdb/mensweather.asp

--and have never got it to load--will be interesting to see how it compares with my weather data over the years--I do hate to see the bookies having it at their fingertips now--but maybe they will be lazy :)

Stan I got a chance to do some comparing this morning and while my player list is limited to only about 30 or so--they did not match up real well with data. I'm trying to figure out how to tweak them. A couple questions
Are the #'s derived from Elliots observation on conditions?-
What factors are used to tabulate
How do several of players have better scoring ave in wind than in all tourneys?

Round 2 plays (1pt)

K.J. Choi to beat Boo Weekley -120 @ The Greek and ToteSport (ties lose) LOST by 1
Boo hadn't played a round of golf or been on the practice range since the World Cup until this week and it showed yesterday. He will hardly improve today, while Choi must surely do so

Stephen Ames to beat Scott Verplank -105 @ Five Dimes WON by 3
The penalty shot aside, Verplank was poor from tee-to-green yesterday (20th in greens in regulation) so doesn't favouritism against Ames today

Rory Sabbatini to beat Steve Flesch -136 @ Pinnacle LOST by 4
Sabbatini was good from tee-to-green yesterday (5th in greens in regulation) and should beat Flesch who, in his last three limited field events in which he ended round 1 in the top-10, shot 74-78-73 in the 2nd round. Limited field events are unique in the volatility of round-to-round scoring

Mark Wilson to beat Fred Funk -135 @ Five Dimes LOST by 1
Simply opposing Funk whose motivation/abilities to respond to poor 1st round scores has declined significantly in recent years

Some people have reported seeing (but unable to use) a box to customise the leaderboard. Anyone seen it or even got it to work?

It's at the top.. you just have to log in
Boo looks a lot better today. Choi looks god awful again :mj16:

A couple comments before I go out to the bars for the night.

Brandt is a streaky player. I have liked him since his SEC days. Guy is ultra aggressive, and his short game is one of the top on tour. I actually called it when he won that Wyndham(although i did get screwed by the rules in rd 1). Anyway, he almost won that huge tourney in Australia.. so when he gets hot he stays hot for a while. I think he is a sleeper as well at Augusta.

Also love Justin Leonards game for this course. Lots of wedges.. great wind player and great putter.

Only one play so far this year, and that was riding ABC's coattails on the Byrd over Weekley for the tournament selection. Looking good so far ABC, let's hope nothing wierd happens.

My first individual selction for the year.

J. Ogilvie over H. Stenson (3rd round) - +113 - Laying 1 unit to win 1.13 units.

Yea Byrd over Weekly was really sexy. It fit all of my criterias to be a huge play (recent form, course experience, etc). I should have gone larger on it, this course is perfect for Byrds game ( great putter, excels on par 5's). I need to limit my plays a la dogs and pick and chose a little bit more. We'll see how the week pans out, but it would be nice to see Chopra and Sabbo come through. I'm going out of town next week so no Sony plays ( at least until the second round) so I bet more plays this week than Id like. Lets root on this pony :00x1 Good luck fading stenson, he has been very erratic all week.
