Kimbo isn't even a top 100 guy in all of MMA......yet he'll beat Thompson in like 35 seconds:mj07: I mean I think I could last longer in the cage then Kimbo's so called "challengers". but(and i know you`re gonna laugh),if slice can keep it standing he`s extremely dangerous....vs practically anybody....

watch his 2 fights again...watch his eyes..and his striaght punches... he actually has a little head movement...

he`s got,imo,a very nice stand-up game..he needs to cool the raw aggression a little,though...but,he knows how to stand in against incoming punches without flinching...he`s got excellent eyes..

what i`m saying,is that he has skills...and i guess he developed them in those street fights(which is really hard to do considering that guys are winging punches without gloves on)...takes a certain mindset to stand and let own shots go with crap coming back at you...particualerly bare knuckles or just minimally wrapped hands...it`s like getting hit with bricks...

his right hand is pretty straight...so that gives him an advantage vs many mma guys...

that said,he hasn`t seen real opposition yet...but,i honestly like what i`ve seen a bit...

if it goes to the ground,or longer than 1 round,it`s anybody`s guess what happens...

just my opinion...:shrug:

Well GW....let me put it to ya this way.......I would look like a good mma fighter if I fought two year olds in the cage now wouldn't I:142smilie I'm not saying Kimbo is horrific.....but he is so over-rated it is just plain sad. I mean I honestly think he isn't even a top 100 pound for pound fighter in all of MMA, but hey just my opinion. and wew baby..........can't wait for Pulver/Faber and Penn/Sherk.....those should be amazing fights:scared

well,the kimbo phenomenon is gonna shake out in the near future....but,those street fights that i finally got to watch,were impressive....i wouldn`t want to meet him in the street...

i don`t know why his hands weren`t broken time and again...:shrug:

miguel torres is a very tough lil` mofo....only saw him once,but that was enough to know he`s for real...

btw...i saw the old clay guida/gilbert melendez fight and was shocked by how easily melendez beat guida.....

it wasn`t close...he battered guida for 5 rounds....very impressive...

ishida(the only guy to beat melendez),must be one tough hombre...

got my eye on one fight in particular...hope the odds are favorable for me....

I think you left off a few other good fights:
This Sunday(although it might be hard to find/download) Nick Diaz vs. King of Pancrase Katsuya Inoue should be a war.

Also Nick Diaz is fighting Mushin Corrbbrey(submission specialist) in June.

As for the Kimbo card: I am looking forward to Baroni/Villasenor fight.Both bring it every fight and will be slugfest.

and he got dominated by Uno and Gomi, 2 very solid LW's....makes his decision over Melendez make you wonder. It could very well be the contrast in styles.

I really dont think Jeff Monson will ever get the big picture.... when u have such a height disadvantage (like Monson does against many of his opponents), u cant challenge w/ such a passive style...

If he plans on standing w/ guys like Barnett, he should study shorter heavyweight boxing champions like Tyson (early in his career, obviously) and Marciano and notice that never do they just stand and exchange... instead they always pressed the action and dominated w/ their power. Monson needs to come to terms w/ the fact that he will have to eat at least one shot to get one in of his own... so trudge forward constantly, make it count when u land a shot and use it to set up a takedown. He could have just forfeited that first round w/ the gameplan he came out w/.

Sorry.... im just ranting... I just hate to see Monson never really evolve as a fighter b/c i like the guy. Yea, he made several attempts to take the fight to the ground, but didnt really "do work" on the ground like you would expect from an ADCC champion grappler...

I didnt bet on the event. I absolutely would have taken Barnett if i did.... just giving Monson a virtual pep talk.

Glad to see world-class grapplers like Roger Gracie and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza make the transition to MMA and do so well. Watch out for these two in particular... Wish i could have gotten in on Souza at Dream 2, but didnt have a line.

What do u think about Pulver/Faber?

I swear, I can't stand Pulver. Sure, he works hard, but I haven't seen a more unathletic fighter. I think Faber beats him 9 out of 10x, if not more.
