"You really think it's Mir's BJJ and not Lesnar's inexperience that lost him the fight. If you think so, then continue being clueless about the sport..."

Let me ask you, what was it? If you think it was one of the other then you're clueless. It was a combination of both. If someone doesn't have Mir's skill level in BJJ then it wouldn't matter what Lesnar's inexerience is, they wouldn't submit him. Did you see Randy or Herring subbing him, NOPE. So his inexperience didn't matter but because of Mir's high level it did matter.

There in lies my point. In both of his fights against Herring and Couture, he wasn't over aggressive and he fought a smart fight...

In the Mir fight, he was over aggressive, and left himself exposed, and THAT IS WHY HE LOST...OBVIOUSLY, you have to know BJJ to pull off that move, but any amount of experience would've also got you out of that leg lock LOL...

I guess Bas is just a moron, and you know more than him...

I've hoovered around these forums for quite awhile, and this isn't the first time you've shown the lack of knowledge when it comes to the sport...

i honestly think that frankie edgar has a real chance to upset the sherk applecart....

i had sherk vs griffin and was actually surprised when he got the decision.....

both guys are wrestlers, but,i think, even though sherk`s stand-up has improved, edgar`s is better...he`s quicker and more well rounded...

and i believe that sherk will have trouble taking edgar down,...

the gray maynard loss?.....maybe maynard is just that good...we know how good a wrestler maynard is...how strong...but he manhandled an excellent jim miller on his feet....

sherk will be 36 in august...changing of the guard...

Edgar will struggle with Sherk and his size. Edgar struggles mightly against fighters who are bigger and stronger than he is. I wouldn't be suprised to see a 30-27 decision accross the board...

Rowdy......first off that is NOT what Bas said, you are twisting his words.

2nd....you my friend are showing your lack of knowledge, not layinwood.

You are entitled to your opinion and obviously have your thoughts on Lesner. Lesner as a -285 fav is a joke in my eyes. My record speaks for itself and I am first to admit that I am wrong many many times. But for you to say that the only reason Lesner "got caught" was because of his inexperiance is just plain funny. Mir is top 10 in all of MMA on the ground. This fight will go to the ground, Lesner will take Mir down to the ground or vice versa, who cares. Once it is on the ground I'll go with the +235 underdog who submitted the same guy in 49 seconds (that's how long they were on the ground). Lesner looked like shit against Herring (Herring sucks) and he wasn't "toying with Herring" he couldn't finish him, even though he had about 50 chances to get in full mount.

Layinwood knows his stuff and actually posts a record of how he's doing. You come in here and say "how great you are" but have no record to back it up and once more bash a guy for stating his case. We are here to help each other with selections not bash em.

We all don't have weepaul's bankroll ya know:142smilie

Mir training with Maia,,,,gee wonder if that helps Mir on the ground:shrug:

Bas did say so, sorry pal. There were other articles online that I don't care to dig up, but you can search yourself. I've watched the sport for YEARS, and you know how many times I've seen someone get submitted from that leg lock? VERY FEW...typically, fights just put FOOT - TO - ASS, and push themselves out...

Your record shows your lack of knowledge of fighters and their matchups. Just because you're +++ money, that just means you've picked BIG DOGS while losing only small favorites....

However, when did +++ money equivilate to knowledge of the sport? I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about knowledge of matchups...

You fucking crack me up if you think Lesnar looked like shit against Herring...

What part of shit did he look like? The great 1st punch? The continuous beating he put on him while he was on the ground?...

I've got a question for you, you tell me a time when a fighter came out looking like this...and his opponent looked like shit????

http://communities.canada.com/vanco...les/00.00.02.29.46.mma/Heath_2D00_Herring.jpg

ps- GSP looked like SHIT against Jon Fitch, he had 5 rounds to finish him, and he couldn't. Lesnar only had 3 rounds...

OWNED, NOW STFU:142smilie

You should concede because your comments of Brock looking terrible against Herring were completely ignorant, and you know it. I showed a picture of Herring and his hamburger face after the fight.

You seem to think GSP can do no wrong and he's the next thing to god, yet you melt when I bring up the point that GSP had 5 rounds to finish a guy, and couldn't versus Lesnar, in his 3rd(LOL) professional fight only had 3 rounds, and couldn't...yet he looked like shit?

If anything, GSP should have more to be ashamed of since he's been doing this for almost 8 years while Lesnar has only for about 2 years...

sherk stood with tyson griffin...and i thought he lost....

edgar beat griffin.....he also beat jim miller, bocek, franca and spencer fisher....

if griffin could keep it standing,i don`t see why a superior wrestler like edgar can`t....

i`m not sayin` it`s a lock....i`m sayin` that a winner like edgar is a very live +235 vs a nearly 36 year old at the end of a long career.........

I won't be making a play on it, but if I did, I'd probably agree that Edgar +235 is probably the smartest money, but I just think Sherk is too big and too strong for Edgar...

Sherk is one strong dude that's for sure. But he is one dumb dude when it comes to the Octagon. He fought the dumbest fight in the history of the UFC when he fought Penn. Never a bad play to go against a guy who has bad fight strategy. Although Sherk may be just too big.

Where's my lack of knowledge? You asked if it was Lesnar's lack of experience of Mir's bjj and I said it was both. Nothing more nothing less, it was both and until Lesnar gets better defense then I'll continue to say it's both.

If you're going to talk trash(which I welcome because I find it fun) then I hope you will start posting your picks so we can all prosper from the greatness of your knowledge.

Yep, pretty dumb fight. He said he wanted to prove that he can stand and strike and isn't one dimensional. Unfortunately he didn't prove anything but the idiot he is...

I have no problem with that...Only been here for one PPV, and did quite well...

Rowdy, one thing I will tell you about the MMA forum at MJs that I think others have come in and stuggled with. This place isn't like Sherdog or other MMA sites, it's a gambling site. We don't pick fights based on anything else but odds. Kick takes dogs and does well. At the odds he takes dogs he doesn't have to hit a very high percentage to win and for the guys on here that's all that matters. Kick checks his ego at the door in place of winning money.

We welcome all here and I think you'll find it very different from the rest of MJs. I would hold off calling people names though, most of the guys in here do nothing but win money. You can win arguements, all I care about is winning money. I

I know this fight isn't until August, but Forrest Griffin at $3.00 (+200) does look very good. See what kind of line movement occurs, but wew baby I do like those odds:SIB

And on that same card you have Kenny Florian at $2.20 (+120), interesting, very interesting:SIB
