Thanks for posting your party experience MJ. It really is encouraging to hear that you can go to a party with lots of drinking & smoking and still not light up. Its also nice to hear that its getting easier.
You may not realize it, but these little stories really are VERY helpfull.

I was a 3 pack a day smoker. Tried everything for years to quite, nothing worked, guess I just didn't want to bad enough. Anyway I finally went to a stop smoking group and they gave me Zyban and patches. This was August 8, 1999. Today I still miss them once in a while, but urge only lasts seconds and I go on. If I finally did it anyone can. Just tell yourself you can do it. Good Luck

Damned Right Jack!
Just about 3 months now and feelin very good
Would love a smoke right now but toooooooo much work to quit.....too many negatives attached.........And....they WILL KILL ME...if I go back. NOW........COMING SOON..........................................................THE REFRIGERATOR LOCK
biggrin.gif

We new non-smokers whose jeans may be tightening up need to band together to Drop the watermelon that may be bouncing over our belts.....My Labanza is healthy, vibrant and growing as we speak but I'm now about to attack that problem and like smoking the first week will be the tough one. Hope ALL the new NON-SMOKERS are feelin as good as I am.........Be Proud cause you deserve to be!

you're so right, bear! too hard to quit so can't waste all that energy we put in just to go back. i'd love one too but screw it! NOT GOING TO, PERIOD!!

also, if things go as planned, without any unforseen hitches, i anticipate that i added at LEAST 10-15 yesrs to my life. so instead of pulling around an oxygen tank when i'm 60 and on my last days, i'll be feeling even better and in my mid 70's without the tank!

hope so anyway.

where can i sign up? or did i already?

STILL A NONSMOKER
Day 18
Went to the bar for the first time on Monday and handled it very well. Zero. The cigs are well behind me. GREAT JOB EVERYONE. We are doing well and I am glad to hear it.

Hello, my name is Juice and I'm a smokeaholic.
Today I decided to go to the track with a friend of mine, who is a big smoker. We hadn't been there in a long time so we thought it might be fun to try our luck with the horses. I tried to convince my friend to stay on the 2nd floor (non-smoking floor) but was unsuccessful, so we proceeded to go to the third floor (smoking floor). When we got there all the triggers were there (other people smoking, my friend lighting up, etc.) and I felt that old urge to have a cigarette, but I didn't.
The first couple of races went by without many nicotine fits. Than came the 7th. I hit a 16-1 shot. My first thought was to celebrate with a beer and a cigarette.
I celebrated with just a beer.

Day 20 and feeling great.

That was a big test that I myself wanted to take. I knew I could pass, but going through the experience makes me feel that much stronger.
I'm glad to see that everyone else is still with us, and that others (Way out West) decided to join us.

GL everyone
