I voted three times. :00hour

You just need to change your IP address in order re-vote. So to cheat you can either go to a whole bunch of forums and convince a lot of people to do your bidding, or just cheat yourself. How important is this? I mean you're getting your butt kicked in the voting, but if you wanted to you could probably get a hundred votes in this evening.

Guys, I didn't ask any questions.... I was asked to help with the vote by my cousin who is the city's financial manager.... My guess is that the city doesn't want to spend the money or be forced to raise property taxes to pay for it or something.... I'm simply returning a favor. I appreciate the votes, fellas. Keep 'em coming! ;)

I was guessing you were the local Absopure or Hinckley Springs delivery guy.

Alrighty, to get a second (or third, fourth, fifth . . .) vote you need to change your IP address. To find out your IP address look HERE. Your IP address is a series of four numbers. Then you can check to see if it is changed.

There are many ways to change your IP address.

If you are on DSL, then you need to reset your modem. You can do this by disconnecting the modem from the phone line for a minute or two. This takes too long and requires you to get up, so there is an easier way. If you are on a network, you can probably access the modem through the router. Try typing these numbers into the address bar of you web browser: 172.16.0.1 If that gives you what looks like a web page, then you have access to the router. Most home networks use a modem/router combo.

I have a 2wire modem, which is standard for AT&T. Click on "view details" and another window opens. click on "Restart the system" and it will ask for your password. This is probably the same as the email password on the main account. Type it in, click confirm, and wait a minute. What do you know? A new IP address.

If you are on Cable, you can't change your IP address that easily. Don't cry. You can always use proxy servers. That is, you can steal someone else's IP address, at least for a few minutes.

As an aside, I've read tech manuals that explain lots of reasons why someone might legitimately want to use a proxy server. None of those reasons sound plausible to me. I think you only use them is for fun and games. I figured it out when I wanted to check my email over a network that was filtered. It took me longer than it would have taken to walk home and check it from there, but hey, I'm easily impressed.

If you are using firefox, like you all should be, then go to Tools/Options, then click on Advanced, then click on settings. Then click the button for HTTP proxy. Then enter a proxy server IP address. You can find some Proxy IP numbers HERE.

I try to find ones that use port 8080, but I can't remember why.
