Somebody has to start this thread so it might as well be me. Arum said negotiations will start this week and Mayweather already said he'll fight the "one dimmensional" fighter. I haven't seen the Cotto fight but as cappers we know that the most recent fight is what stands out in gamblers minds. Most of us were highly impressed by May just a few months ago and most were saying he'd open as a favorite. I think a few sites even posted odds. Now with Pac's destruction of cotto this past weekend, that will be fresh in gamblers minds and I tend to think pac may open as a SLIGHT favorite. For me, I think it's a virtual pic em. May doesn't have Cottos pop but he has D, speed and incredible reflexes. This is THE fight that is going to bring boxing back into the mainstream and is going to break all kinds of records. 50 Million each perhaps? Anywho's, I haven't seen the fight but my early lean is going to be on Money by razer thin dec. There will be huge amounts wagered on this and I doubt we'll see the huge swings in the odds as we've seen in some recent fights. Would like to see all opinions on this. I think odds will be coming out soon.

Odds will probably be near pick em one way or the other. I think after Money May beat Marquez he opened as -200, or more, as a future against Pac. But that is probably out the window now. Pacman express will continue to roll over Mayweather. Mayweather not strong or busy enough to win. Pac by KO! Still, no matter what negotions are in play now, I really don't think Floyd will fight. He'll find some excuse like the division of funds to get out of it. He'll demand 60 or 70 % and price himself out and then blame Pac and Arum.

After all: "all roads lead to to Floyd Mayweather?"

There were future odds posted on this before May-Marquez/Pac-Cotto. May was -120, bet up to as high as -180. I kind of feel if $$$$ May is thinking, if Cotto could'nt put a dent in this monster, what the heck am I supposed to do? Mayweather's pride is such that a bitch-slapping by Pac-man is something that will eat at him the rest of his life, 30-50 milllion or not. His posse will not look at him the same. This boy has an ego, the demensions which are unmeasurable. But anything is possible. I don't see it. But I also thought Cotto would win, so don't listen to me.

Can the first person that says "I have been around boxing for a long time and i thought Pac would beat these last three guys but size in this fight worries me" Please be banned.

I see Floyd being a 150 fav or more. Pac beat three washed up fighters. Floyd will do enuf to win. Pac fought three fighters who get hit easily. Money will also be all over Pac and that is bad news for Pac. Everyone will want to see Floyd get wiped out. Give me Floyd for the max. Floyd will act like his usual dick self which will make people just unload on Pac. Any decision at all will go to Floyd even if he wins only one round. Vegas doesn't lose these type of fights so they will set the line high enuf to get that flood of Pac money. Just my humble opinion

Unless Floyd steps up and fights Paul Williams, there is no other fight the fans will accept. Floyd essentially HAS to take the fight. This is his legacy. Pac has stepped up to the plate time and time again with numerous HOFamers and he has shined. If Floyd backs out now, he will be remembered more for not fighting Pac than for his ring accomplishments. I'm convined he takes the fight and we get the "fight of the century" sometime this year.

correction: meaning signed this year and the fight sometime in 2010

Hope you're right. It's a no brainer money wise but Floyd is as cagey and disingenuous as they come. I think he's really afraid to lose and won't put himself in the position to do so.

If you read between the lines of this video you'll see what a phony he is.

When they axed Manny Pacquiao he said talk to my promoter. priceless.

He will fight him a lot faster then fighting Williams. Floyd knows he will be the bigger stronger guy for this fight unlike a fight with Williams.

Do you think Floyd is stronger than Pacquiao? I don't.

He should fight Pacquiao first because it would be the biggest fight of this young century and he can't make better money anywhere else. And if he is such an easy fight, as he says, then he really can't go in any other direction.

"That's it, I want Hatton in the UK. Let's do it," - RA the rugged man on Floyd.

Floyd is pretty much cornered like a rat. But he'll figure out some type of wacky spin on things to get out of it.

Here are some possible excuses Floyd may use to nix the fight:

1. Pac's on steroids
2.They are not paying enough
3. He won't accept less than Pac
4. Won't prove anything, he's already lost
5. Nothing to gain from this fight.
6. No Reyes gloves - and must be 12 ounces.
7. Need a 24 foot ring
8. Ring surface too soft
9. He's already the best ever, nothing to prove
10. Won't do it at anything lower than 154.

Does anyone have any other possibilities?

:

What i meant is that compared to Williams the strength is much closer between Floyd and Pac then Floyd and Williams. willaims is a pain in the ass to fight and of course the money would be a tenth of what Pac will bring unless he beats Pac and then fights Williams. then it might move up to a quarter of the money

Surprised the Filipinos didn't jump on those odds while they were in town. I think the odds will come down. I like Floyd here but it's really a pic em fight. The fight may very well come down to what style you like...agression and the guy who is making a fight of it (Pac) or the guy that doesn't get hit much and lands a few good shots each rd (May). To be honest, unless you can get good + odds on either guy, I don't see it worth betting a bundle. Those that really like Pac, +150 isn't too bad.

I used to think that Floyd will beat Pac, now I just don't know anymore.

Kramden you seems to be right every time when Pac fights. You even picked Pac over Oscar when many thought that to think that just plain nuts:D What is your opinion who will prevail Pac or Floyd?

Thanks frank. You the man!
Appreciate the update - so some Pac fans DID bet before leaving town. Not surprising after that performance.
