Throw in the towel
From Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia

The traditional admission of defeat in boxing, where a second who feels his boxer cannot or should not continue the bout throws a towel into the ring to end the fight by a technical knockout.

See also throw in the sponge.
.......................................................................

I am not surprised that Sponge is mentioned with this losing act of submission.

sorry for your llost .

I dont care what wight Hatton is fighting at with his pudgy self. He will have more trouble making the weight than Pacman.

If you watched the Floyd Jr fight Hatton was knocked silly by left hands. His chin is suspect.
He is most likely going to take a terrible beating
with a high probability of a towel thrown in with the TKO attached.

Mannys chin is solid and recovery time is advantage
Pacman. Pacman is not going down from a Hatton body blow. I doubt that.

If the odds were better I would also be jumping on less than 9 rounds. I think by the sixth round Hatton will have had enough and he go down like the clown he is.

Marquez had Pac in some trouble in the second fight.
If Hatton lands with the same punch, he might just floor him.
Pac doesn't have much room for error here, contrary to Ricky.

I'm missing the logic here, if you think it's a 6 or 7 round fight and you can get under 9.5 at +125......, there's even a round or 2 for error at a plus number.

weepaul - I would think you would not just throw out weak stuff.

That fight was October 14th 2000. Nine fawking years ago. :142smilie

And Pacman got up and beat the holy shit out of Hussein .

lManny Pacquiao beat Nedal Hussein by TKO in round 10 of 12 in Ynares Sports Center, Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines.
.................................................................

Geez Louise I hope your not basing a wager on that information. Thats pathetic.

Pac was in a heap of trouble, holding the guy like his woman and that crook Carlos Padilla takes a pt away from the other guy and then warns him a few times :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:
.........................................................

Romi

if you watched the first cliip Padillo took the point away from Hussein after he threw 2 or 3 elbows in the corner.

and then that second fight was from Jan 25 1995

:142smilie

And the guy hit Pacman in the nuts, not on the fawking chin.

weepaul - go back to your dreams .

If your coming in here to take the other side, at least be able to back it up with some kind of logical information.

I read you wagered 15 grand on a fight though so I guess you must know what your doing. :SIB

I don't make wagers I am not sure of.

Its not enough value for me to risk any more money than I already have invested in this fight.

the way I go is the way I know.

The logic is this :

If Pacman can KO him , I win both wagers.

If Pacman wins and does not KO him, I am about even.

It seems simple enough.

Nobody has ever said boxing was a easy payday.
Its much harder than other sports to me, but I love it almost more than anything I wager on.
I could never do it day in and day out though.

Yes Brother. The fights were years ago and Pac has never been hurt since (Insert Sarcasm).
As we all know your chin gets better with age (Insert more sarcasm).

Getting hit in the balls has never made my eyes go cross eyed. Watery but not cross eyed. What fight were you watching???

At least Pacman takes it to the body much better than the chin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sETbYUK96o

And as we all know, Ricky is a shit body puncher!!

You have the odds on your side sunshine, so we shall see what happens come fight night!!

I'm going to enjoy spending your money :D

I guess that's the difference between us. Boxing, to me, IS the easiest sport to bet on by a country mile and I alway's turn a profit by the end of the year.

You should stick to betting ballet dancing or synchronized swimming. You know, something you know something about :mj07:

Team up with Roach

Deciding to fight in the United States, Pacquiao in early 2001 walked into Freddie Roach?s Wild Card Gym in Hollywood and told Roach he was looking for a trainer. Roach immediately took Pacquiao in after seeing the Filipino shadow-box in the ring. Thus started the highly successful Pacquiao-Roach partnership.

Shortly thereafter, Pacquiao got a big break when he was picked as a last minute replacement to challenge International Boxing Federation Super Bantamweight champion Lehlohonolo Ledwaba on June 23, 2001, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao scored a stunning upset, winning by TKO in the sixth round as the referee stopped the fight.

PacMan went on to defend his second world title five times before being held to a sixth-round technical draw by Agapito Sanchez on November 10, 2001, in San Francisco because of head butts. The Filipino sensation then successfully defended his title four more times by knockout.

Thats where Roach comes in.

Dont you get it ?

Roach will have a answer in training to counter Hattons body blow attempts.

And who does Ricky have

Floyd Sr :142smilie :142smilie

OK, I will give you the Mayweather is a mumbling, old bonehead of a trainer.

But I fully expect Billy "The Preacher" Graham to run into the corner WWE style, hit that senile old cunt Mayweather over the head with a chair and take over Ricky's instructions before all is lost.

While in Miami, Dundee's career thrived. In 1960, Dundee was hired to train Muhammad Ali and he remained in Ali's corner until his fight with Larry Holmes. Dundee, a quick thinker and master motivator in the corner, helped Ali get through some of his toughest fights.

In 1976, Dundee was asked to help shape the career of Sugar Ray Leonard. Again, Dundee was a genius in building a boxing legend and hall-of-famer.

Few boxing fans could ever forget his "You?re blowing it, son" talk to Leonard just before he knocked out Thomas Hearns to unify the welterweight crown.

..........................................................

Roach has the smarts to tell Pacman " your blowing it son "

Floyd Sr would say - uh blow him Ricky Blow him

This could actually be the turning point of this wager winning.

You cannot disregard the corners.

Floyd Sr is not only slow, but he is stubborn and controlling. Not a good combo for what will be needed by Hatton in this fight.
