Ok valid point....but Semyon Varlamov case was way different then what Ray Rice did, way different, but I do see your point.

The NHL's Varlamov had been charged with misdemeanor assault after his girlfriend told police he knocked her down with a kick, stomped on her chest and dragged her by her hair at their apartment on Oct. 30.
The girlfriend, Evgeniya Vavrinyukat, also accused him of telling her that he would have beaten her more if they had been in Russia, where he is from, authorities said.
Lynn Kimbrough, a spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney's Office, declined to offer specifics Friday on the new information that led prosecutors to drop the case. She said it surfaced from additional interviews with witnesses.
"This is not an indication that we didn't believe our victim," Kimbrough said. "It is ... simply not having the ability to prove it."
Not on video, none of his teammates saw what he did.
Meaning ya think his teammates would have let him play goal if he did same thing Rice did?
I do agree Semyon Varlamov is a piece of shit and what he did was disgusting. Very rare for that to happen in NHL and all his teammates should be disgusted in themselves for having him in dressing room.
But I don't think for one second any NHL player (or some other leagues) would let that slide if they did what Rice did on that video. That video is powerful.

good info..nfl had a police report indicating he knocked her out but didn`t have the video.....I read that rice`s lawyer had access to the video......you wonder why the nfl didn`t require rice to provide it before making a determination.....
No that is not what I said......just saying that the video is powerful, one thing to read about it, another to see it.

Semyon Varlamov and Rice should be in prison and both should never play pro sports ever again.

Well, he won't have to worry about clearing waivers because the NLF has just announced he has been suspended indefinitely.
The sad part in this is she was his fianc?e when it happened and now she is his wife. Why did she marry him? What has he done to her since that's not on video?
I'd say money had a lot to do with it, but most likely not, sadly millions of women around the world stay with men that beat them up. It is sad, but it is true.
