Not much else to talk about and signing day is getting close so why not.

As a Tech fan I'm excited to see what Tubs can do in his first full year of recruiting and so far it looks like he's hitting a homerun. Leach never recruited hard and didn't think he needed to. The thing that gets me about Tubs is that he's recruiting well out of other states including Florida. We're not one of the big boys but we're looking pretty good.

Teams that stand out-Flo State. I guess Jumbo is quite the recruiter.

I am pumped about LSU class. 3 of Rivals top 18 players are in the house, down to the wire with Ole miss and Miss St for Rivals #21 player, and UGA's former QB, Mettenberger already enrolled.

And, yes, Jimbo is a hell of a closer.

Cie, why do you think Les never hits home runs with his qbs? I know he's signed some big time qb recruits but none of them ever seem to be "it" if you know what I mean. Is it his style of offense that makes them look that way. Of all the players they get it just seems like either he recruits the wrong big time qbs or his system just doesn't make them look great. I know Russell was a #1 draft pick but even he didn't look that great IMO. The best of all of them wasn't even the biggest name(can't remember his name but it's the kid of out Tyler Lee that won the NC with them).

Matt Flynn sat behind Russel, then won a title his senior year. Russel was something like 25-4 as a starter, so we weren't complaining about Flynn riding the pine. Flynn was a true team player, and remains in the NFL as Aaron Rodgers backup. No one associated with the team is surprised that Flynn is a better pro. One is a hard worker, while the other drinks codeine syrup like it's water:mj07:

As for the problem with LSU QBs, I like to blame Crowton, who by all accounts does not take the time to develop QBs. It seems the little things add up to greatness at that position more than others, and he is out for that reason. Supposedly, Kragthorpe is going to be far better in this capacity. The new juco transfer appears to be the real deal. I am pumped up about the future.

It's amazing they let it go that long. I've always thought that the QB position was the only thing really holding LSU back(not that much has held them back but you know what I mean). And most any qb for them is going to have a good record as a qb because they're such a good program. When you add up the rbs, lineman and WRs they've had you would figure the qb would have great numbers just because of those.

Outide of Flo States class I'm also very shocked at the USC class. 30 verbals so far I believe. No way in hell if I was a top recruit I would go there knowing you can't go to a bowl. I would be headed north to Org and all the nice Nike facilities they have.

I get the feeling that Oreg is going to take over the PAC10 for a while. I hear the facilities are sick there. I also read that Tenn is bulding some awesome facilities as well.

You mentioned USC, but what the hell has happened to UCLA. How can a major school in LA flounder given the talent that state has to offer:shrug: Somebody needs to open their checkbook;)

I just heard someone talking about UCLA yesterday and what they said made sense. USC is private so no money worries. UCLA is a public school and the states problems with money is taking it's toll on the school. They basically can't spend any money without getting it approved. You know that means sports isn't getting a big %.

To paraphrase someone else, following recruiting is following the decision making of 17-year old males, maybe the least trustworthy demographic, who would sell their own mother for a hand job.

I'm not doing it anymore. I'll look and see who ND got the day after signing day

You mean Tech has sucked all these years and all it's taking is hand jobs. No wonder those sluts down in Austin are doing so well recruiting.

How many scholarships does USC have to give this year? They have 30 verbals as of right now and they're suppose to be short 10 this year and also 10 for each of the next 2 years for 30 total. Surely they didn't have 40 available this year but maybe with transfers they do.

I'm still not totally sure how it all works..and everything is still pending the appeal...yeah right...

i do know that in this year's class there were 9 early enrollees that counted towards last year's class, so that 30 number is actually 21 for the 2011 class...i think...

Cie, I'm so glad LSU didn't get our Co-OC Fuente. I don't want anything messing with our offensive success from the past two years.

TCU took a hit losing the safeties coach, but Coach Patterson is involved with them anyway so it won't be that big of a deal.

I'm liking the recruits TCU is getting right now. I would like to see a big time DE commit though.
