ITHINL WE'LL HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE

ITHINL WE'LL HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE

That was a nice spin job by electing to only posts top 10 and not the whole top 25.You've done your homework well. But if you count the top 25 it is:

2000-01

SEC 6
Big 12 5

2001-2002

Sec 5
Big 12 4

My point was the Big 12 has not dominated the "new millenium".I think it has been really equal.Like I said you can spin it however you want in your favor but there has been no dominating conference.By the way...I am a Texas and Nebraska fan when there not playing the SEC.Ive enjoyed the discussion. You've enlightened my day.Around here we always argue who's better inside of the SEC.Its fun to have a whole conference to compare.I work at a golf shop and 2 other guys there went to Michigan and Ohio State. It gets real heated sometimes.Good thing SEC swept 3-0 the Big Ten this year in bowls.Cant wait till football season. Is it August yet?
:D

I don't need to spin anything. I posted what was basically the staple of my argument. Having 3 teams finish in the Top 5 compared to 1 in your conference says it all. And each one of these teams played each other. To me, that shows dominance.

You saying that they are equal only goes to prove that the SEC is not "the best" conference" in the nation. Without a doubt. ;)

You lost me.Having 3 teams finish in top 5?When?Are we still talking football?Last year:
1.Miami
2.Oregon
3.Flordia
4.Tennessee
5.Texas

Im not seeing your 3 teams in the top 5.And the "staple" of your arguement was"the Big 12 has dominated the new millnium".You've gone from top 25 to top 10 to top 5.I know the Big 12 has a national championship,so dont come back with how many titles do the SEC have in"the new millinium".Let's just agree to disagree.I started out by saying the Big 12 hasnt dominated and you've even posted stats to back up my side of it.Its been fun getting to know you.I know how much you love your football now.Its too bad you had to combine 2 conferences to even get close to the SEC.By the way...the old Big 8 has been carrying the old southwests load with all your stats!!!:D

Sorry, I meant to say 4 in the Top 10.

Now back to what you just said. What stats have I posted that have supported your claim?

OK, now you've really lost me here..........when did I ever combine two conferences to validate my point? I've cited stats from the past 2 years......the Big 8 has been out of commission for 7 years now.

Where did you get lost in the timeline here?

My goodnesses, I have not looked at this thread in a day or so. I come back and shit. Look what I started. I was just talking shit a little.

MONK : 1) Where is my porn email? You can get it from Bluemond 2) You are posting all of these stats but you have never addressed the main issue, that an Elephant can beat Bevo's ass. ;)

Anyway I will remain above the fray. I looks as if there is enough "facts" out here as it is. I love basketball but I think most of us in this conversation will agree, you can not beat college football. I also think it is no suprise that this is coming from people in Alabama and Texas, 2 states that revolve around football.

Anyway, everyone better pull through The Tide tommorrow against South Carolina.

I was saying it took 2 conferences merging to compete with the SEC.Nebraska and Colorado also finished in the top 10.And how did we let Stoops get out of the SEC?He is a great coach. You also got a great coach in Bobby Knight. But you asked me how did you help with your stats:

Non-conference records:
Big 12, 32-13, .711
SEC, 31-14, .689

Non-conference records:
Big XII: 36-10, .782
SEC: 34-10, .772
Non-conference records vs quality opponents:
Big XII, (1-2 Vs Top 25, 10-9 Vs all seven win teams)
SEC, (6-5 Vs Top 25, 14-9 Vs all seven win teams)

These stats dont look like dominating your new millinium!!!

Add those with fla#3 Tenn#4 and Sec going 5-3 in bowls vs Big 12 going 3-5 last year and I think I make my point.I think you measure a conference from bottom to top.And the SEC has 2 panzys with Ky and Vandy. However,Ky has been to 2 bowls in the last 4 years. But the Big 12 has Kansas,Baylor,Missouri, and Ok St that are usually never 500 or better. Its not just my opinion. From top to bottom and bottom to top the SEC is just a stronger football conference. But I am glad we dont have to face Nebraska every year.:D
