well in the NFL Randy Moss can come out and say he isn't happy with the way things are going with his next contract and live to play another day and nobody crys foul. With Dana ur lively hood is taken right out from under u because his feelings got hurt because the guy isn't a yes man. It really does depend on what he said. I wonder if he knew that the rat he was talking to would run right to Dana. I bet that rat kisses Dana's ass every chance he gets unless he couldn't get close enuf because Kick is kissing it.

So you're saying that every UFC fighter who doesn't complain publicly about the UFC is a 'yes man?' There's no in between? No gray area? That seems like a bit of a stretch to me.

I think there are ways to maturely, professionally, and intelligently bring up grievances. I'm sure there have been UFC fighters who have brought up problems one-on-one with Dana, and I'm guessing he has a lot more respect for people who do that. In fact, I know there have been guys who were "on the outs" with Dana, but eventually patched things up with him because they spoke to him directly and they worked it out.

It's a completely different story to go back behind his back and air your dirty laundry to a "UFC employee's wife." I have no idea who that is, but that guy has to be pretty stupid to think that wasn't going to come back to bite him in the ass.

Plenty of people vent about their job to their spouse, friends, etc., but most of them realize it's not the best move to badmouth the company to the wife of one of the higher ups. We don't know what he said but my guess is it wasn't just WHAT he said, it's the fact that he didn't have the courtesy, or maybe even balls, to talk to Dana about his problems directly.

Glen where does it say he badmouth to a higher ups wife of a ufc employee? I take it he talked to a fighters wife which would also be a ufc employee. Moss went on national TV and complained.
The difference here is Moss can't be toss out like a piece of expendable trash because he has more teams to go to and representation to stand by him. Now Duffee has hardly anywhere to go and a boss with a very short fuse. Heck Dana is still mad at Fitch because Fitch balked at Dana's demands to make all the money off of Fitch's likeness. It is funny that Dana always wants all fights to be on the table and talks of Fitch and Koshchek all the time. Never mentioning any other camp.

not saying everyone is a yes man but it would sure suck to work for someone who has a quick trigger like Dana does.

what did the guy do that im missing  :mj07:

He is a whiner and a crybaby. The UFC is like other entertainment vehicles....the guys that draw get the big bucks, the guys that have a single line get dick. If he wants the big bucks, make something of yourself and draw crowds that bring in money for the organization. Bite the hand that feeds you and hit the fucking bricks. I wish I could shit can the assholes that bad mouth my company every day....the same company that supports their family despite the fact that they would be LUCKY to get a job anywhere else with their skill set.

I tried to look at the article again, but the page isn't loading. At any rate, I believe the article said something like Duffee made 'negative comments about the UFC to a UFC employee's wife.' When they said negative comments, I assumed they meant he was saying bad things about the UFC organization (which may or may not have included comments about Dana).

As for the 'UFC employee's wife' line I guess it's possible they could be talking about a fighter's wife, but I took it to mean some kind of executive. If they were talking about a fighter's wife, why wouldn't they just say a fighter's wife? That would be like saying 'NFL employee' or 'NBA employee' instead of NFL player or NBA player. You just don't hear players/fighters referred to as employees very often.

I don't disagree with you about the Moss thing. I think that NFL/NBA/MLB players are probably given too much rope with some of the comments they make, and some of the things they do. But the fact of the matter is the way things are handled in those sports is much different than the way they are handled in the UFC. In those leagues people know they can talk trash about the league, their coach, other players, etc., and just get a slap on the wrist. That was kind of the point I was making when I said maybe Dana feels like he has to put his foot down so things don't get out of hand in the UFC. Not saying it's right or wrong, but it is what it is.
