The Eagles swept the season series last year, dominating the Cowboys in Dallas 23-7. In this season's first match-up, Romo passed for 324 yards and three touchdowns, T.O. was unstoppable with 10 catches, and the Cowboys rolled 38-17 as a three-point road favorite in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicated. I expect nothing less in the rematch, which I feel Dallas takes today 37-13.
The Cowboys are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS at Texas Stadium this season, averaging 33 points a game, with the lone loss coming against the Patriots. And they head into their home finale seeking the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and the home-field advantage that goes with it.
Look at what happened to these teams last week and then focus on today's match-up. The Eagles, following consecutive narrow losses to the Patriots on the road and Seahawks at home minus McNabb, got their injured QB back and scored on their first drive to take a 7-0 lead versus the visiting Giants. But ultimately they lost that game, and watched their dwindling playoff hopes go up in smoke, when New York rallied and a last gasp attempt to force overtime, a 57-yard field goal as time expired, clanked off the goal post. Conversely, Dallas found itself down 13 points with 19 minutes to play at Detroit but rallied in the final minute for the win behind the passing of Romo. Now the Cowboys, with renewed vigor and momentum, return home to take on their most hated rival, and what better way to continue their drive to the home-field advantage through the postseason than completing a sweep of the Eagles just as Philadelphia did to them a year ago in its late-season charge to the playoffs.
Again, Dallas 37-13, which is NOT a recommendation to play the total, but rather my feeling on how big the Cowboys will prevail.
