John Ryan

Game: Colorado Avalanche at Phoenix Coyotes Dec 31 2007 8:05PM
Prediction: Phoenix Coyotes
Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Phoenix ? Colorado has a winning record, but it is certainly not due to their ability to kill off short handed situations. Note that Phoenix is 10-4 against the money line (+10.3 Units) against poor power play killing teams that are allowing the opposition to score on >17.5% of chances this season. Coming off a home game is not one of Colorado?s favorite things. Note that they are 3-11 against the money line (-8.8 Units) in a road game where the total is 5.5 this season. 1-8 against the money line (-8.0 Units) in road games after playing a home game this season. 2-7 against the money line (-7.9 Units) after playing 2 consecutive home games this season.

Game: Edmonton Oilers at Columbus Blue Jackets Dec 31 2007 6:05PM
Prediction: Edmonton Oilers
Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Edmonton ? Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 77-54 and has made 42.4 units since 2002. Play on road dogs of +100 to +150 against the money line after allowing 2 goals or more in the third period last game and is facing an opponent after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game. Columbus has just not played their A game against teams they should defeat. Note that they are 0-7 against the money line (-8.7 Units) when playing against a marginal losing team with a win percentage of 40% to 49% this season. Take Edmonton

Game: Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames Dec 31 2007 9:05PM
Prediction: Calgary Flames
Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Calgary ? Vancouver is an excellent defensive team, but Calgary has great success when play teams with this make-up. Note that Calgary is 13-3 against the money line (+9.9 Units) in home games against excellent defensive teams allowing <=2.4 goals/game over the last 3 seasons. They are also 29-10 against the money line (+14.8 Units) in home games against good teams that are outscoring their opponents by 0.3+ goals/game over the last 3 seasons. Revenge is also a factor too. Calgary is 20-6 against the money line (+10.9 Units) in home games revenging a loss versus opponent of 2 goals or more over the last 3 seasons.

Game: New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes Dec 31 2007 8:05PM
Prediction: New York Islanders
Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on NY Islanders ? Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 275-238 and has made 96.4 units since 1996. Play on any team against the money line that is a poor offensive team scoring <=2.55 goals/game on the season and after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. Carolina is just not a good defensive minded team. Note that the Islanders are 46-31 against the money line (+18.0 Units) against poor defensive teams allowing 2.85+ goals/game over the last 2 seasons. Plus, Carolina is 8-16 against the money line (-10.9 Units) when playing against a marginal winning team with a win percentage of 51% to 60% over the last 2 seasons. Take the Islanders.

Larry Ness' Weekly Wipeout Winner-Auburn/Clemson (9-1 since Thanksgiving!)
My Weekly Wipeout Winner is on Auburn at 7:30 ET. Here's an "a-typical" Larry Ness analysis. Trusting Clemson in a "big game" can be very dangerous to your wallet! LY the Tigers were 8-1 (ranked No. 10) and being hailed as CFB's "best one-loss team" when they visited unranked Va Tech on a Thursday night. As five-point favorites, the Tigers got beat, 24-7! Just to prove "you can't keep a good team (with heart!) down," here's the way Clemson finished the '06 season. As 19 1/2-point home favorites the Tigers lost to Maryland (13-12), then edged NC St 20-14 as 18-point favorites before losing at home to South Carolina (minus-5), 31-28. In the Music City Bowl, Clemson, a 10 1/2-point favorite, lost to Kentucky, 28-20! Fast forward to '07. Clemson opened 4-0 but then lost at Ga Tech 13-3 and home to Va Tech, 41-23! The team then won four straight and on Nov 17, hosted BC, with the winner going to the ACC title game. As 8 1/2-point favorites, the Tigers lost, 20-17. Now THIS TEAM comes up favored over an Auburn team which won 20-17 at Florida (plus-17 1/2), holding a team which averaged 43.1 PPG and 462 YPG to 17 points and 312 yards. Now THIS TEAM is favored over Auburn which held McFadden to 43 YR and his team to 11 FDs and 193 total yards in a 9-7 win at Arkansas. FYI, Arkansas averaged 39.8 PPG and 457.4 YPG on the year. Playing in the brutal SEC, Auburn finished 5th in the nation in PPG allowed (16.7) and 8th in total YPG (298.3). I realize Cox stinks at QB but Tuberville will not lose to Tommy Bowden and his bunch of "toothless" Tigers. Weekly Wipeout Winner on Auburn.

Good Luck....Larry
