Game: Washington Wizards at Denver Nuggets Feb 8 2008 10:35PM
Prediction: Washington Wizards
Reason: Washington has been struggling without Caron Butler (hip flexor). They've won one and lost four with him out of the lineup. Hopefully he'll be back in time for this one. The Wizards lost at home to San Antonio Wednesday then start their road trip in the high altitude of Denver. That's better than playing in Denver at the end of a trip and/or the second night of a back-to-back. Wizards don't play again till Sunday in Phoenix
where Shaq might debut so have to see this as a more winnable game than that one. They also catch Denver off its first-place showdown game at home with Utah Wednesday night. Take Washington.

Right about now would normally be the time the G-Man would go against a team playing on the road for the 6th straight time, and the 3rd time in the last 4 days, BUT we are talking about the Spurs, and we are talking about the Spurs playing against the pathetic Knicks.
New York has lost 7 straight, and they have failed their first 2 of this 3 game homestand. Look for the Knicks to complete the hat-trick, as the G-Man expects the Spurs to continue their recent uptick.
San Antonio has won and covered their last 3 on this monster road trip, and they have also bested the Knickerbockers the last 5 times these teams have played, and 8 of the last 9 meetings straight up.
The favorite in this series is on a 7-2 tear. Couple that with the Knicks 3-7 spread mark their last 10 at home, and we are looking at a San Antonio rout.
Lay the road wood with the Spurs as they take another on this extended road swing.

It was supposed to be Kevin Garnett's homecoming to Minnesota in a Celtics' jersey, but instead he'll be in street clothes as he rests an abdominal strain he suffered six games ago.
Never fear, though, we're still going to put our money behind the Celtics as they should be able to handle the T'Wolves without KG. Boston is 6-4 ATS in the last 10 meetings with Minnesota and they fought a tough 87-86 win in Boston back on Jan. 25, failing to cover as 14-point favorites. The Celtics have covered the number in each of their last four games, going 3-1 in the process.
Boston beat the Clippers 111-100 on Wednesday as a 7 1/2-point favorite but they have dropped two of their last three road games. Those two were at Orlando and Cleveland, a little tougher than at Minnesota.
The T'Wolves are just 8-15 SU at home, 10-13 ATS, and lost 92-86 to the Rockets on Monday at home as 5 1/2-point underdogs. And if you look at Minnesota and what they do after long days off, they are just 4-7 ATS when getting two days off or more.
With Ray Allen and Paul Pierce in the lineup and the play of Boston PG Rajon Rondo heading up, this should be an easy one for the Celtics. Lay the chalk and enjoy a nice 15-point win in this one.

CLE 3.0 (-110) vs 710 ATL
Analysis: Play On: Cleveland Cavaliers
Note: Cavs take on the Hawks in Atlanta off last night's 15-point loss at Houston with revenge from their last meeting this season. With value in this game with Cleveland unrested, look for the Cavs to improve to 7-1 ATS on this court here tonight.

Take "(719) UTH Jazz"
Utah is the hottest team in the NBA, winning 10 in a row. And talk about depth! The last game Paul Millsap and Mehmet Okur fouled out in regulation, and they still beat Denver ? on the road! 16-2 SU, 13-5 ATS the last 18 games. Sacramento likes to run under new coach Reggie Theus, but the Jazz prefer that style, too, averaging 105 ppg ? 5th best in the NBA. The Kings are just 2-5 ATS the last 7 games. Play the Jazz!

SMOKIN DAVE COKIN
Niagara already beat Rider once this season, and the Purple Eagles have a great history on the road in this series. But Rider is really hot right now, and I see the number being just a little short in this contest. In their current form and with the revenge factor, I'll lay the spot with Rider to get the money tonight."

Any conference home favorite of 4.0 or more, that is off a 3-0 SU and ATS in their last 3 games all on the road, has a win percentage of .770 or less, versus an opponent off 2 or more SU wins in a row is 0-6 ATS since 1990. The underdog has actually won 3 of the 6 outright. Play on Princeton plus the big number

NBA Selection:
Boston at Minnesota 8:05PM EST Play on: Boston Celtics
The Celtics are a very nice 30-16 ATS this year, and 15-6 ATS when playing on the road this year. The Celtics are also 9-3 ATS when playing on Friday nights this year, and 24-15 ATS in the role of a favorite this year. We look for the Boston Celtics to grab the road ATS Win & cover tonight.

731 San Francisco (6-16) at 732 St.Mary's (19-3)
WCC tilt in Moraga. This will be a very tough spot
for the host to get up. They come off a win Monday
vs league Giant Gonzaga. Now they must get up for lowly
San Francisco. The Dons do play hard for HC Eddie Sutton,
but fall short in the talent department.
San Francisco keeps it close.
Take 731 San Francisco

New York Knicks + over San Antonio Spurs
The Knicks are struggling having lost seven consecutive games but the first five losses came on a brutal road trip out West. New York has lost two competitive games back at home but they faced an exhausting stretch with eight games in less than two weeks. Now with a little recovery time New York should deliver a better performance. The Spurs have won three consecutive games but this is a spot where long travel could catch up to San Antonio as this is the sixth consecutive game away from home for the defending champions. San Antonio has been struggling with an 8-16 ATS mark in the last 24 games and the Spurs have especially struggled on the road until piecing together wins in the last three games. The Spurs had a very tough time just over a month ago against the Knicks, winning by just four at home. This could be a game the Spurs overlook with a big game against Boston next on the schedule and the Knicks should have a good chance of staying within an inflated number.

For Friday take the Spurs at the world's most famous arena
The Knicks were playing much better ball and were actually very competitive in that last five game West Coast road trip as they may have lost a lot of games but covered a lot as well. Things though seem to have regressed once again back home as the Clippers and Pacers both recently won at Madison Square Garden and even without Tony Parker I can't help but believe we will see yet another outclassing in this spot.
San Antonio has not been as dominant as we have seen in seasons' past and the Knicks do have some talent with Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, Eddy Curry and others. Plus I have backed the New Yorkers a bunch recently and have been rewarded for doing so but this team is a complete abortion as they just do not care to play for weeks at a time and we are in the midst of one such streak right now after the bad losses to the the inferior boys from Los Angeles as well as Indiana. New York has dropped seven straight games now and the last two against the number. Isiah is a joke and is not exactly going to be able to motivate his squad here.
The Knicks have the ability to compete if they care to as missing Parker is a big deal for the defending champs but in the end New York is definitely gutless leading me to believe that the professionalism of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli and the Spurs will just be too much.
