Now, we?re returning the NBA where the Atlanta Hawks are playing at the Seattle Supersonics.
Almost quietly, and because of the Miami Heat?s losing streak and because not much is expected of them, the Seattle Supersonics have put together a 12-game SU losing streak that goes back to last month and last year, technically.
Over that stretch the Sonics are 4-7-1 ATS and over their L4 home games they?re only 2-2 ATS.
While the Hawks are only 3-5 ATS their L8 games, over their last 17 games, they?re 9-8 ATS.
Over their L10 games the Hawks are putting up 96.2 points per game, about four more than the 92.8 points per game the Sonics have been averaging their L10 games. Over their last 10 games the Hawks have scored at least 100 points or more five times, compared to the three times the Sonics have put up 100 or more.
Also, over their L6 games the Sonics have allowed 114.3 points per contest.
The Hawks will be able to put up points against a lackluster Sonics defense and squeak by with a victory.
Take the Hawks on the road.

For Friday take the points with the Timberwolves.
We do have one of the best against one of the worst, if not thee worst, here today from the Fleet Center but Minnesota has been improving over the past week unlike Boston who has not been the same wrecking ball of a team of late.
Obviously Doc Rivers' squad is extremely talented with the three headed monster of Garnett, Pierce and Allen and will win this game but the way things have been of late I'll take my chances with the visitors plus the gaudy number.
The Timberwolves have the worst record in the game but just won shockingly in Golden State the other day and on Wednesday came home and beat up Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and the Suns. Sure these games may have been semi flukes but if they can pull those two rabbits out of their hat then why can't they at least somewhat compete tonight!?!?!?
The C's just imploded late in the loss on Wednesday to Toronto, blowing a seven point lead very late and have been hot and cold over the past month after the incredible 30-3 or whatever start to the season. KG will want to pound his old team but Al Jefferson, who is a total superstar in the making, has the same motivation against his former team as well as the old man Antoine Walker who was a Celtic for years.
We could get totally outclassed in this game and still cover the huge number. That makes me believe there is a much higher upside here than downside so I'll for sure back the suddenly surging Wolves!

I have little problem laying this small number tonight as we back the Portland Trail Blazers on their home floor when they welcome in the Houston Rockets.
After Portland caught fire and looked as if they couldn't be beat, they have stumbled a little recently, alternating wins and losses over their last eight games. This doesn't worry me much as the losses have been on the road while they continue to pick the wins up on their home floor.
The Blazers sit at 17-3 on the year in Portland, and have covered the number 15 times out of these 20 home games. Portland heading into tonight despite their recent sluggish play has won five straight on their home floor.
The Rockets come in winners of three straight, but two of the victories have come on the home floor.
Lets see how they do tonight when they face this Blazers team that is virtually lights out at home.
Lay the points and play the Blazers.

We played the Spurs on Wednesday to take down the Lakers because of the injury to Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum and it came through like a champ. Today, we have no problem playing the Lakers in this one because the lack of a big center isn't as important against the Mavs.
This is the first meetings between these two this season and neither squad is firing on all cylinders like they were early in the month. Both teams had six-game winning streaks to start 2008, but both have cooled down lately with the Lakers losing two of three and the Mavs going just 2-2 in their last four.
Dallas is just 10-9-2 ATS at home this season while the Lakers have posted a 10-8 ATS mark on the highway. Los Angeles is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the Mavericks are just 5-13-1 ATS in the last 19 against Pacific Division opposition and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Friday tip-offs.
The Mavs spread the ball around and don't have the dominant force in the middle. So Bynum's absence won't affect the Lakers tonight like it did Wednesday. Let's grab the points as it's just way to many for the Mavericks to lay right now.
Play the Lakers.

Houston is quietly getting it together, riding an 8-2 SU, 6-4 ATS run, including a win over the defending champion Spurs. New coach Rick Adelman was brought in to improve the offense, but the Rockets have been more impressive defensively, allowing 93 ppg, 5th best in the league. They take on a Portland team that comes home after a grueling 7-game road trip with a losing record. Houston is 4-0 against the spread the last four meetings.
Play the Rockets!
A pair of good teams meet in the West, but the visitors have a lot of things going against them. New Orleans plays its third game in four nights, plus the second of a back to back spot after facing the Clippers Friday night. The Hornets are 0-4 SU/ATS the last four meetings with San Antonio, including a 97-85 home loss this season. The Spurs are rested and 20-4 SU, 14-10 ATS at home. A very difficult scheduling spot for the visitors.
Play the Spurs!

It's basically been free money playing against the Nets lately. They're banged up and, even worse, don't seem to have any focus. That explains the fact that not only are they losing, the Nets are getting crushed on a nightly basis. Until NJ shows signs of life, keep fading them. Nuggets minus the points here.

This is a very difficult scheduling spot for the Bucks, who are coming off a game vs. Indiana last night. In addition to the "back to back" situation, the Bucks will also playing their fourth game in five nights and fifth in the past seven. That's as grueling as it gets in the NBA. Note that the Bucks, heading into Tuesday's game vs. the Suns, are just 7-12-1 ATS (6-14 SU) the last 20 times they played the second of back to back games. Unlike their guests, the Raptors had last night off. In fact, this will be just their second game in the past five days. Heading into Wednesday's game at Boston, the Raptors have covered five of their past seven games. They'll be playing with "revenge" here as they were blown out at Milwaukee back in November. They'll have the fresher legs and should be able to earn a convincing victory.
