At this week's Northern Trust Open at Riviera, formerly the Nissan Open, take Zach Johnson (50-1),1/6 unit: Don?t forget about this guy, especially on a shot maker?s course. Patience is key at Riviera; I think we learned about Johnson?s shot making and patience at Augusta. He?s only played in two events this year and finished with T20 and T32, respectively. He hasn?t missed a cut at Riviera in four tries, finishing as high as T22 in 2005. Take Jim Furyk (20-1), 1/6 unit: It should come as no surprise that Furyk has a strong record at Riviera. He?s played it a lot (he had a T9 all the way back in 1995). There?s been no drop off so far this year after another strong year in 2007. He?ll be grinding for you this week, as he does every week. Take Mike Weir (33-1), 1/6 unit: He won the Nissan Open at Riviera twice (2003 and 2004). But it?s also about how well he?s playing now. He looked in mid-season form at Kapalua and last week he finished T14 at Pebble with a 69 on Sunday.

LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR)

Play: FRIDAY NIGHT BLOW OUT: CORNELL -5

Comments: LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR) SELECTION: FRIDAY NIGHT BLOW OUT: CORNELL -5 ^^^ Cornell is 6-0, in the Ivy league and dominating the conference. They have shown no letdown on the road winning by 18,11 and 12 points. Harvard has lost 5 consecutive and is on a downward spiral. They were crushes last Friday night and don't show any signs of having anthing in the tank to hang with Ivy League leader Cornell. In the Ivy league, the road team is 6-0 ATS in Cornell games. Make that 7-0 tonight as Cornell pputs a beatdown on Harvard

COMP PLAYS:

James Patrick Sports

Cornell vs. Harvard 7:00 p.m. est.
Head Coach Steve Donahue has resurrected the basketball fortunes of the Big Red during his lead at Cornell. The Big Red has plenty of depth and talent and they?ll put it on display Friday Night in Boston as they travel to Beantown to play the Harvard Crimson in Ivy League Action. Tom Amaker came out of the shoot like a bolt of lightening but has since dropped back in the pack and is losing ground in the conference race weekly. We go with #503 Cornell as our Friday Ivy League selection.

Jimmy the Moose

Washington Capitals at Florida Panthers
Friday, February 15th, 7:35 PM ET
Washington has won 3 of their last 5 games while the Panthers have lost 3 of their last 4. Washington is 7-3 in their last 10 games played after having one day rest between games. The Panthers are 2-9 in their last 11 home games. Both team's are in the playoff race but the Capitals are only 2 points behind the Hurricanes for top spot in their division and the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Capitals know this is a game they must win. Washington has won the last 2 meetings.

Todays Picks

YALE -2 over Princeton - 7:30 p.m. ET Friday night. For some reason the average sports bettor does not take advantage of the easy lines in the Ivy League. Yale is shooting over 50% over the last two games and Princeton's top scorer will not be playing in this game! Get your wager in a.s.a.p. before this line drops.

JIM FEIST

The Bruins just cooled off the Pittsburgh Penguins with a solid 2-1 victory, the first of five straight games away from Boston. They are 3-0 their last 3 road games, and dominated the Penguins right from the start, outshooting them 13-4 in the opening frame and are battling NY for the 8th seed. Toronto is going nowhere, last in the division, losing 7 of 10 games. Bruins have dominated the last three meetings, winning 5-2, 4-2 and 2-1. Play the Bruins!

MATT RIVERS

For Friday take Marist in Manhattan
Rik Smits is not walking through the door for the Red Foxes tonight and the visitors have lost three of their last four games but Manhattan has turned into a joke and is a must go against here.
I really cannot pinpoint how Manhattan has regressed so rapidly to the point where they are today but they just flat out stink. I do realize that they lost their coach in Bobby Gonzalez but this freefall is still a bit much. This was a team that went to the NCAA tournament a few seasons ago and were very competitive against top notch schools. Now the Jaspers are one of the worst teams in the entire MAC and they have dropped eight of their last 9 games and 11 of 13 and it's not like they exactly have a home court that resembles Cameron Indoor or the Pit in New Mexico.

NHL GAME of the YEAR: DALLAS STARS +145 After extending their winning streak to five games, the Anaheim Ducks may not have wanted their team-record nine-game road trip to come to an end. They open a season-high seven-game homestand on Friday night against the Pacific Division-leading Dallas Stars, who are coming off a rare loss last night where they played very poorly. Jean-Sebastian Giguere, hasn't fared well against them in all five meetings this season against Dallas, getting pulled in two and going 1-4-0 with a 3.64 GAA. Dallas is looking to rebound from a 5-2 loss at Phoenix on Thursday after opening the home-and-home set with a 2-1 victory on Monday to equal its franchise-record seven-game winning streak. "We need to compete at a higher level," Stars center Mike Modano said after the game last night and Dallas always plays well on the road in the underdog roll. Brenden Morrow has been a force in helping the Stars go 10-2-0 over the last 12 games. The left wing has eight goals and four assists in that span, giving him a team-leading 24 goals and 55 points, which rank him second on the club behind Mike Ribeiro (64). Anaheim returns home after a very long 9 game road trip and Dallas is coming off a terrible performance last night. Dallas has already taken 4 of 5 from Anaheim and will get a big win tonight as a +145 underdog. PLAY THE DALLAS STARS**

PITT/MARQUETTE UNDER 137

Both of these teams play decent defense and Pitt will turn this into a banging Big East game. Marquette, Dominic James especially, has really been struggling with shooting this season - including beyond the arc. This one goes under.
