***BEST BET
Wyoming over New Mexico* by 1

This Wyoming team was bad to us early but perhaps
we didn't quite understand it. First-season head
coach Heath Schroyer was doing that first-season
head coach thing and they were at the bottom of
the performance curve early, which deflated their
power rating for now as they make their run
through Mountain West territory.

The teams had a brawl last season, so despite the
long road trip to the Pit, Wyoming does not figure
to come out flat. They also had a nice, non-conference
tightener for this during the week, when a 15-minute
player led them in scoring and allowed big minute-loggers
Ewing and Jones to come off the bench and play less,
the better to be razor-sharp for this outing.

They have already played in Wyoming, and coach Schroyer
took heat for benching guard Brandon Jones for the
last few minutes plus overtime, his response to Jones'
being a punk and jawing at the New Mexico bench. As
if they needed more of the same from last season.
Wyoming went on to lose without their second-leading
scorer on the floor, but moves like that by head
coaches tend to pay off later as the team is reined in
and plays smarter. Off the 91-51 win against the high
school team known as Colorado State, New Mexico has
nowhere to go but down. WYOMING, 69-68.

5-4 (2-unit)
59-40 (1-unit)

573/574 Towson State @ Drexel over 125 (1-unit)

Each of these teams is in the middle of the pack as far as pace goes. These pace numbers get drag down due to the conference they play in. Drexel has played five conference games against 66+ possession teams and the average pace was >70. Towson St has played 7 conference games against 66+ possession teams and the games averaged 68.5 possessions.

The previous match up this season between these teams had a posted total of 124.5 and the game was an extremely up-tempo, with each team combining to exceed 75 possessions and the game was played to a total of 163 points.

Drexel does have some injury problems however they did play a fairly good offensive game against George Mason last time out. We get a low total here because both of these teams are bad on offense primarily from Drexel. The bad offense is somewhat offset by the bad defenses as Drexel has allowed conference opponents to shoot 46.7% from the field and Towson has held opponents to 43.6%. Towson has only held 2/12 conference opponents to <60 points and Drexel 1/12 conference opponents to <60 points.

609/610 Arkansas State @ Florida Atlantic over 145.5 (1-unit)

The Owls have been playing some up-tempo games of late as compared to the earlier part of the schedule. The first 16 games of the season the Owls have averaged 68 possessions per game and the last 8 games the Owls have averaged 76 possessions per game including one game against Denver. If we throw Denwer out the average goes up to 78. During this stretch the Owls have shot very well from the field converting on 48.4% of their shots from the field.

The Indians have one of the worst defenses in the league ranking #334 in defensive efficiency and allowing conference opponents to shoot 46.7% from the field. The Indians have also played good offense during conference play shooting 47.4% from the field. This should be an up-tempo game and with each team playing solid offense combined with the bad defenses this game should go over this total.

4 Unit Play. #558 Take Michigan -4 ? over Penn State (4:00 pm BTN) We all realize that this is a play against Penn State, as they have won just won game since Claxton went down with an injury. This is a must win game for Michigan and they will take out their frustrations on a Lion team that has already thrown in the towel.

4 Unit Play. #579 Take Vanderbilt +3 over South Carolina (5:00 pm ESPN Fullcourt) Vandy still does not get much respect on the road and we will continue to pound them when they play bad teams and are getting points. Carolina is coming off an impressive road victory against Mississippi, but they have five home losses already this season. Vandy is starting to shoot it better and that should allow them to build upon their two straight victories and make it three in a row.

6 Unit Play. #592 Take Nevada -10 over Hawaii (6:00 pm ESPN 2) Nevada is coming off a dominating performance against San Jose on Thursday, winning that game by 38 points. Hawaii is not much better then that Spartan team, as they only beat them by 1 point in Honolulu. They have been off for a week and expect the rust to become evident making the long flight into the states. Nevada has already won in Hawaii by 18 points and have beaten the Warriors in four straight games. Hawaii is just 2-4 on the road and traditionally never plays that well in the states. Nevada was able to rest most of their players during the second half on Thursday and thus they will be fresh for this mid afternoon tilt.

4 Unit Play. #621 Take Mid Tennessee State +1 over Florida International (7:30 pm) A simple look at the conference record leads one to conclude that the Raiders are the much better team in this tilt and it does not matter that the game is being played in Miami. State has dominated this series winning 13 of 17 meetings and picked up a nine point victory against the Golden Panthers earlier this season.

4 Unit Play. #639 Take Bradley +6 over Illinois State (8:00 pm) The Redbirds suffered a bad beat to Drake on Wednesday and thus expect a letdown effect to occur with this encounter with the Braves on Saturday night. Bradley continues to move up the standing in the Missouri Valley Conference having won six straight games and that streak includes a victory over the Redbirds. The winner of this game will likely get the No. #2 seed in the conference tournament and expect this one to go down to the wire with Daniel Ruffin coming up big again.

4 Unit Play. #645 Take Baylor +17 over Kansas (8:00 pm ESPN Fullcourt) This is a similar number to what the Jayhawks saw against Missouri and they had trouble covering that number. Baylor is a much better team then Missou and has great quickness at the guard position. They are 4-1 away from Waco with their only loss coming by single digits to Texas. Kansas will pull away late, but it will not get anywhere close to tonight?s inflated number, as Baylor has the athletes to score points.

4 Unit Play. #653 Take Northern Iowa +4 over Missouri State (8:30 pm) The Panthers will bounce back in a big way on Saturday and we will collect in the process. The Bears play well at the Hammons Center, but NIU already has five road victories this season. They have also won eight of the last 11 meetings between the schools and that includes a 15-point victory earlier this season. Expect a closer game on Saturday but it will still fall the way of the visitor.

4 Unit Play. #659 Take Purdue +10 over Wisconsin (9:00 pm BTN) Way too many points to be laying for the home squad as first place in the Big Ten Conference is on the line. Both teams play a slow down style of offense and this game may not get out of the fifties. Purdue already has three road victories this season and the Kohl Center is not that intimidating of a place considering it is so big; it is hard to get really loud and in your face. Purdue also has dominated this series, winning 99 of the 161 lifetime meetings and you can expect a close game that goes down to the wire and we get the cover with whomever comes out on top.

STRIKE POINT SPORTS

3-Unit Play. #543 Take San Diego State -1 over TCU (3 pm)

The Aztecs will keep it going in league play, 6-2 so far, and look to continue a push for the Big Dance. San Diego State has won the last five meetings, while TCU has struggled of late, dropping four straight and seven of its last ten games overall. It will be a balanced attack for the Aztecs, but Kyle Spain and Lorenzo Wade will lead the charge in a winning effort.

3-Unit Play. #545 Take Houston -1 over Tulane (3 pm)

A very strong 17-4, we'll see this Cougars team in March. Houston is 6-1 in C-USA play and have really stepped up on the road of late, going 6-2 ATS in their last eight away from home. I love the way this Cougs team plays, an up-and-down frenzy, looking for as many possessions as possible. Rob McKiver is an impressive scorer from the perimeter, but just the same, Dion Dowell and Lanny Smith give this team balance. Houston can have five guys in double figures in scorers with its strong offensive game. They'll get the job done over the Green Wave in this one.

3-Unit Play. #565 Take George Mason -135 over Old Dominion (4 pm)

The Patriots know that road games on the CAA are no easy task, however George Mason needs this game to stay just one game back of VCU in the conference standings. In the first meeting back in late January, the Patriots throttled the Monarchs by 33. Not enough has changed to keep George Mason from a series sweep and its tenth league win of the season. They cash as the road favorite.

2-Unit Play. #587 Take Utah -2.5 over Air Force (6 pm)

The Utes held serve when the Falcons came to town and took care of business via a 22-point win. Utah is the better team and here we'll see that by leaving Colordo Springs with a win over the Air Force. We cashed with Utah earlier this week over UNLV, and they'll make it another winner, this time on the road.

4-Unit Play. #617 Take Wright State -135 over Youngstown State (7 pm)

The Raiders are on a roll, winners of seven straight to reach a much more appealing 8-4 Horizon league mark. Wright State has won nine of the last ten meetings, going 7-2-1 ATS in the last ten vs. the Penguins. They keep this one-sided series in their favor.
