*One side play Wednesday:
New Mexico State (+8) at New Mexico - 6:00pm Pacific - Game #553-554
The Aggies started the season with some growing pains adjusting to a new head coach and two new point guards. They then faced an ultra tough schedule that included Ohio, Duke, Texas, West Virginia, and UTEP all away from home. The end result was a 1-6 record to start the season. Since then NMSU has not had to leave the state for three weeks, gained valuable practice time, and have won 3 of 5 games with the two losses going down to the wire. During recent stretch they beat this same New Mexico team soundly, winning by 9, and finishing with a +16 rebound margin. Sophomore guard Chris Cole has been getting the majority of minutes at point guard recently and his steady play and hustle have made the team better. New Mexico has played a very favorable schedule with 8 of 11 games at home. The highest rated team they have beaten is Texas Tech on Saturday who has not been playing well all season and it was the first time that Alford had ever beaten Knight. New Mexico has a big home court advantage at The Pit, especially vs non-conference opponents, but this is more similar to a conference game as these two teams play twice every year and NMSU is no stranger to the building, losing by just 3 here last year. This line is too high. Take the points.
